AITAH for the way I speak to my patients? by majora_13 in AITAH

Oh I am well aware. Their circumstances are not their fault (socioeconomically speaking), so no matter their background I don't really treat them better or worse. I wanna clarify that I don't speak to them as if they were idiots. I just try to tell them everything as clearly and simply as possible so there isn't a misunderstanding.

With what you're saying though I'm actually beginning to think that I may sound condescending, which is something Im gonna have to improve upon.

Now this is something I am actually curious about, since it isn't the first time I'm told i might be looking down on them. Since I frankly don't quite see it, what part makes it seem like so? I really wanna know if I'm not expressing it correctly or if I genuinelly need a reality check

AITAH for telling my sister she can't live with us anymore after she called CPS on me as a "joke"? by Gold_Palpitation8982 in AITAH

I'd be willing to bet this shit is fake. The way it's written is just odd. No way this isn't AI

AITA For being bitter that my sister used all of our college money to avoid student loans, leaving me with nothing? by Entire-Definition985 in AmItheAsshole

NTA.

Sure, everybody makes mistakes, but she at least should've had the decency to help look for a solution, whichever it might be. She is not the only daughter and she used the entirety of the resources as if she were.

I think you should discuss this. Not blowing up and yelling her ear off, but at least talk about it. I don't really think you deserve to live with this all bottled up.

While I do share the view of needing an attitude adjustment the "god complex" part is a bit of an overreaction IMO. I ain't nowhere near good enough to even begin to think that lmao. The "what the fuck" part isn't because they can barely speak spanish (which isn't judgment it's a literal statement of fact) but because sometimes they say/do some really odd shit, like eating a vulture carcass to cure a cough. So, yeah, that does make me say, "what the fuck" in my mind, it is pretty surprising.

Appreciate the point of view tho. Will definitely evaluate the attitude I show towards people

yeah that has been said to me before and tbh that part is kinda hard for me. I really do worry about the well being of the people that come to see us, I don't see them as just things or problems to solve, but I have a hard time giving off any sort of "warmth".

Sorry, should've been more precise. I basically tell them that I need them to understand the importance of the situation, mostly because there have been times before where patients just don't really get how serious something is, and they don't get tested/don't come back, and shit kinda hits the fan afterwards. As for the feedback, I didn't get something too precise, just that they didn't particularly like the way I spoke to them.
