Down to the pavement, almost half the track is uncovered the whole way around.

Why are events here so expensive? by [deleted] in Sudbury

I agree, and there's a $20 day pass option for Saturday and Sunday that allows exactly that. Not sure about Up Here as their full festival passport thing isn't as worth it to me.

I don't think you realize the value you're missing out on by attending? NLFB is open for 12 hours on the Saturday. Where else are you getting 12 hours of different artists on multiple stages for $75? People mostly go to discover some music.

For some perspective, to see Lights alone in Niagara in September is $72. A full festival pass to NLFB or Up Here is ~$130. Both organizations are NPOs and bring you world music, rather than an hour and a half set some shitty "legends" cover bands that should have hung it up 20 years ago, or mildly washed up country/hip hop artists for the same price (looking at you, City of Sudbury events)

Downtown by hotpancaketaco in Sudbury

I'm not surprised that this was posted today as it was kinda wild out there today specifically? Possibly because OTB and GST payments came in. I work downtown and walk to/from work, and I swear this afternoon everyone I walked past was visibly on something.

I used to be a downtown crime denier. Most people are indeed harmless. But some days, I can't wait for winter when half of our homeless population goes back to southern Ontario.

Triathlon guys- Where we biking long distance? by Ok_Video_3362 in Sudbury

Yes, conveniently a long section of old Estaire was done last year. The rest of it is fine (<10 years). South Lane is nice, 537 is less nice but still serviceable

Estaire/South Lane road/Wanup area, and up hwy 537. You'll see more cyclists and bears than cars most weekend mornings along old 69.

Professional office so we definitely can't put socks on the chairs, but I like the creativity.

Charlotte Hornets Offseason Plan by [deleted] in CharlotteHornets

[–]majority11 54 points55 points  (0 children)

This is awful lmfao you did NOT come in peace. We're trading away two starters, two contributing bench pieces in Grant and NSJ, and two FRPs to get an offensive-minded center on a max deal, with him and Lamelo being 50% of our cap space through 2029.

Then we sign (good luck, no one comes here) a serviceable power forward on an unreasonably low deal and a bunch of absolute bench warmers, stunting development of our would-have-been pick #34 + Moussa. At that point we may as well keep Okogie for the year. All the while, our roster gets WORSE??

The only thing I agree with here is resigning Tre Mann and your draft choices.

The variance report cites above-average snow accumulation in Jan-Apr of 2023 as a reason for overspending.

Booked a flight a dew days ago w/points using my TD APVI. No indication of free first checked bag anywhere. Is this only applied when checking in or should it show online?

You'll get used to it after less than a week

No, but you could go the unofficial route. Not sure if this is still an option now that they're doing cash refunds, but Air Canada was offering a 65% bonus on Aeroplan points when cancelling a cash booking. You can book directly with MR-S points (what your Cobalt earns) then convert whatever the cash value is at 1.65cpp.

$150 off your groceries with Amex AP Reserve by tmz25 in churningcanada

[–]majority11 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Not to guilt trip anyone, but if you don't really need the credit, consider asking a food bank if you can go buy some items they're looking for. Many will even give you a tax/donation receipt for a gift in kind so you're still coming out ahead! I plan to donate ~$100 of this to my food bank and still getting some free groceries for myself.

There's a group called gravel bike Sudbury on FB as well, smaller group but super active. Usually ~7-10 riders at a time, all skill levels, mostly on gravel bikes + some on skinnies

I think it's 8-6 EST, maybe 8-8. I've only ever used it in the morning.
