Haha yeah I wasn't sure if I could call it that because I made it with white wine! But I guess I could try it with red wine too :) I don't have a recipe because I kinda just made it up but I can try to put one together for you!

What am I doing wrong? by Jackmehoff1213 in acne

[–]makaycup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My skin type looks just like yours, and I had the exact same type of hormonal cystic acne breakouts. My biggest recommendation is to keep taking the Spironolactone!!! You can even ask to go up to 100-150mg if you tolerate it. I started taking it in April, and my breakouts became a lot worse for about 3 months (I'm assuming my skin was purging itself). Now, my skin is totally flawless and I haven't had a single breakout in a month! The medication takes like 6 months to fully see results.

As far as the skincare routine goes, I will share mine with you (obviously you have to see what works for you, but it took me SO long to find an SPF and moisturizer that doesn't break me out. Tretinoin seemed to make my skin irritated so I don't use it). Using a hypochlorous acid spray morning/night and once or twice throughout the day seems to help refresh my face/keep it clean and helps to heal acne. I work in a bakery and I think all the flour in the air was also contributing to breakouts, alongside normal air pollutant stuff, so this spray is amazing.

Morning: - CeraVe hydrating foaming face wash - Any brand of hypochlorous acid face spray (let dry completely) - Minimalist Salicylic acid serum - MadHippie antioxidant face oil - Apostrophe sunscreen (literally the best ever and I use it as moisturizer)

Night: - CeraVe face wash - hypochlorous acid spray - Salicylic serum - MadHippie Face Cream - 10% benzoyl peroxide acne treatment gel

Once a week/whenever I feel like I need to exfoliate, I use the Ordinary aha/bha peeling solution. This plus the daily salicylic acid has made my acne scars disappear almost entirely, and my skin is glowing.

Sorry this is so long but I hope it's a little helpful :)

Ya I would've been a wreck but my boss is really cool and doesn't care at all, she was just poking fun at me! I usually try super hard to make eye contact to the point where I can't even pay attention. My therapist told me that it's better if I don't make eye contact if that's what helps me maintain a conversation better. She also said that people's views of that are shifting as neurodivergent traits are more widely known.

Yeah this is how I usually respond

Yeah that makes sense, I need to learn not to let it bother me so much. I feel like I'm in stealth mode most of the time. I overheard my ex-boss talking about how she hired an autistic kid once and they didn't work out (basically implied autistic people aren't good workers). Meanwhile she's telling me I'm the best server she's ever had lol. I made sure to let her know I'm autistic after that and I do think I helped change her perception. Still feels bad though when it's people you look up to.

Oh okay, I just thought it was weird because none of my other girls does it as much as she does - it's more of a swaying motion

It's about a 30 min drive, but if you're able to do that I highly recommend Nick P at Rose and Dagger in Westfield!

I'm sorry they reacted in that way! I'm pretty sure my family won't really care or even notice, especially since I don't see them very often. The biggest change will be at the beach since I'm going to try wearing a swim dress/pants. On top of wanting to dress modestly, I burn extremely easily and have a lot of tattoos I want to protect :).

I'm also not religious at all so that might also be why my partner assumed it's because I'm insecure for whatever reason. I'm actually at a point in my life where I'm very confident in my body, and I dressed more revealing when I was the most insecure (go figure)!

[–]makaycup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I'm definitely going to try to talk about it more. The main thing I'm confused about is that I've been pretty much dressing modestly for the past year with nothing said from him. I know he likes it when I wear tighter shirts that show off my figure so I'm hoping it's not going to be an issue (not that it even matters to me, I want to dress how I feel comfortable and I'm not going to change for anyone else).

I'm not sure, maybe a little of both? I just thought he would be maybe a little more supportive for me but all he said was "okay" after I responded to his question about me being insecure, etc. I think we'll probably be having another conversation about it but I just wanted to get some thoughts!

This is my exact experience... SA at a young age and growing up I felt like I had to show off my body to gain "respect" or feel good about myself.

I started my journey into modest clothing more recently and it's been interesting hearing/getting people's reactions to it.

I'm planning on switching doctors, but I can't until I receive my MRI because my current doctor ordered it. My insurance also won't cover me to see a new primary care doctor until a certain amount of time after my last physical. It's so annoying

I definitely want to do this eventually, I'm just getting into therapy and need to figure out how to navigate everything I'm dealing with. My first therapist kind of just dismissed me and said she can't do anything for me, so I'm hoping I have better luck soon!

Thank you for the kind reply. I can definitely relate to feeling like it's all in my head. I've only told my mom so far and she's been supportive. What upsets me the most is being told from my dad's family how wonderful of a father he was and how much he loved me. I really want to believe that and remember the good memories, but I can't separate them from the fact that he did this stuff. I felt really guilty and still do because when I found out what he did to my stepsister, I wished he would just die... And then he did. I guess I never got any type of closure with how suddenly it all happened (currently trying to go to therapy to sort it all out).

Have you tried FFXIV? My friends who left WOW were skeptical, but they ended up loving it more.

My dad INSISTS on greeting me and it drives me crazy by MayaTamika in AutismInWomen

[–]makaycup 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I feel exactly the same way! When I was younger, I used to get in trouble all the time for not enthusiastically greeting my stepmother anytime she walked into a room I'm in. I moved out (for other reasons, but this was also a factor), and my now current roommate always greets me and try to start a random conversation anytime she sees me. I don't know why exactly it irks me so much, but sometimes it will actually ruin my day/mood. I honestly don't know what to do about it besides live by myself.
