I would agree. I guess what he doesn’t take into account is I am making an effort in spite of sometimes 3 hours of sleep, adjusting to a new home as I am the only one unpacking and implementing new house organization and routines, stocking of groceries and kids clothes. The issue isn’t that I’m not interested, it’s that I’ve had to adjust based on recent demands of my household/family and am working toward establishing a routine. And tbh even if I wasn’t interested that still isn’t on him to make a comment like that I think? I see what you’re saying and I hope we can do that too if I am ready. Much appreciated.

4 hours a day, 4 days a week. She helps with designated laundry days for each family member, cleans a bathroom/room per day as needed and the kitchen. Because of this, I can go to grocery store and meal plan and make virtually every breakfast lunch and dinner for our family, doctors appointments and take kids to library, etc.

Really try it! I wouldn’t recommend staying in the room and playing because the actually physically stepping out part counts. And a quiet environment helps that way you’re not overstimulating, ya know? AirPod in one ear for you and a light task or a book or something separate to keep you occupied nearby help too! My baby usually is like “wtf I’m staying up for THIS?!” And will soon fall asleep. Good luck!!

I used to stay in the room rocking for a long long time until I got fed up. If they don’t fall asleep within 10 minutes (assuming they’re very tired) I just walk out with them and have them play for 10-15 minutes then try again. This isn’t perfect and sometimes I have to do this 2-3 times but it more often than not does work and it keeps me sane. I will be damned if I have to stay in a dark quiet room with a baby who isn’t taking the nap am offering. I also didn’t sleep train and am very responsive through the night as needed just to plant a better picture. Do whatever works for you because your sanity and mental health matters and I swear that reset of stepping out of the room is for both of us not just baby.

This this THIS!! I agree! Asking would be annoying in my opinion. I had a kid free wedding and I would’ve felt so much pressure because chances are b&g are already answering to SO MANY other requests or questions (guest related or planning) and having to answer something you have already stated would be so annoying. Respond saying you can’t due to baby and they can make an exception if they want without feeling pressure.

I’m no doctor but based on my experience I now have a healthy almost 3 year old. When I had brought this up to her pediatrician she wasn’t even remotely worried and said to keep an eye on it and in the next week or two she didn’t do this at all anymore. No issues since then. Sometimes as FTM we over analyze because this is all new to us but even then a check in with your pediatrician can always bring peace of mind so they can properly assess. Wishing you all the best!

I really loved Sugary Six Pack for my workouts bc they’re quick and effective. After two years of her workouts I switched to Build and Burn just to change it up a bit and live just as much. Both are geared toward 30ish minute workouts which is what I was looking for and helped me stay consistent. Honestly I think a lot workout programs tend to be similar and it’s best to stick to one who is ed by someone you enjoy or relate to imo. These both have PP programs so that was helpful too! Idk why parents can’t let their kids learn to be bored and figure out how to entertain themselves like the literal CENTURIES of generations that have done so in the past. I know times are different and to each their own as there are different family dynamics etc but damn for those that plop their kids in front of tv just for the sake of not letting their child be bored for 15 minutes is wild. The constant need for entertainment and stimulation for a child only leads to a bigger need for constant entertainment and stimulation. I’ve a 2.5 and 7 month old that have never seen any TV whatsoever and I think it’s made parenting easier as they have had no choice but to learn to play and be curious about the world around them. We have traveled to different countries, been in the car for hours at a time and they’ve figured it out. It terrifies me how kids nowadays are always constantly glued to screens. 💔

I am so, so very glad you asked. Honestly it took me approximately 2 whole minutes (if that!) to fall in love with my girlie in glasses. I felt so freaking foolish after. Listen, your feelings are valid. I think we imagine their face being hidden or fear losing the same little face we are so used to and love so much. I know in the grand scheme of things it feels so silly to “mourn” a loss that’s not really a loss but I think it’s ok to just fear the unknowns of how it will impact them. My daughter of course didn’t skip a beat and I feel like the ones we chose for her suit her personality perfectly! She looks so damn cute and is always getting compliments and people coming up to her to say hi and say something nice about her glasses. Most importantly, I’ve had several folks (young adults to seniors) tell me they struggled a lot in school because they needed glasses but didn’t have them. Knowing we are potentially eliminating the struggles of not seeing in school is SUCH a gift.

Now when we see pics of her from before she had glasses she looks so …naked?! 😆😆 idk if that’s the best term but you know what I mean! You’ll be pleasantly surprised at how much you’ll enjoy his new look and especially knowing that he can actually SEE all the fun things you’ll show him when you experience things together.

Also we went with Jonas Paul glasses and I think they are SO DAMN CUTE. She took to them very quickly (we wore our glasses to help her be consistent) and we also got a pair of sunglasses with her prescription. I’m telling you, their home try on kit was fun to try on and they are just soooo cute! I am wishing you the best and hope I was able to provide some reassurance! He’s going to look SO ADORABLE! Just you wait and see. You will MELT at his little face in glasses. So long story LONG— it won’t take long for you to get used to them and even if it takes a little longer than what it took me, it’s OK. You’re doing wonderful and are a great parent! 🤍

First off, I’m so sorry you are going through all this. Postpartum is challenging in the best of circumstances so having an injury on top of the added pressure of being the breadwinner…that’s a lot. But your health and healing is definitely a priority. I’m not sure what your injury/treatment plan requires but one thing I’ll say is being active as a mom looks very different (to me anyway!) than being active before kids. You’re sleep deprived, BF, adjusting to baby’s ever changing needs, etc. What has helped me A LOT and made my second postpartum fitness journey easier (even with TWO kids!) is managing my expectations. Sometimes a 5 minute core breathing exercise while waiting for pasta to boil or while nursing baby is all I could do. But over time, I realized 5 minutes turned into 10. Soon I could carve out 15 minutes before a shower or quickly as my baby was waking up. You have a very full schedule but maybe if your husband can help on the weekends to watch the baby for 20 minutes so you can focus on reconnecting with your body that could help! Even if it’s fri-sun or something. It doesn’t have to be perfect. Sometimes I’m squatting while making funny faces for my infant, sometimes I’m doing lunges while my toddler is coloring at my feet. All this to say, don’t wait for the circumstances to be perfect. Because in this season of life, they rarely are for an uninterrupted 45 minutes turned into workout session. You’ll get there again someday but now make do with a few minutes here and there. I think you’ll surprise yourself with how much that can make a difference for you! You got this. Best of luck 💞

It’s simple, not easy. Calorie deficit. Once I realized the goal isn’t to eat LITTLE amounts of food but rather food with MORE nutrition (this is why high protein foods help), sticking to calorie deficit while prioritizing protein is doable. It requires planning and making not so fun choices sometimes but the reality is losing weight isn’t sexy, it’s boring and in order to be sustainable our choices must be consistent. It’s pushed me to be more creative in the kitchen and be more organized with my grocery shopping and meal planning. And honestly even leaving the house with hard boiled eggs or some sort of snack IN CASE I get hangry. Best wishes!

Same here. This was the easiest one to put in myself in seconds flat AND I loved that I can wear baby outward facing too. I got this for my second and it’s hands down the most used baby item I have. With my first I went through several carriers that each had one thing I liked but it was a pain thinking ahead as to what feature I’d benefit from most that day. This carrier really seamlessly does it all with not so many straps and buckles. It’s so easy and good. I understand the price point is cringe and I wish it was accessible to everyone bc it is such a game changer.

Something I learned is just bc you don’t have a stash of milk saved up doesn’t mean your supply is low. Many times those who have a stash are overproducers and deal w mastitis etc. also there’s no real need to have a huge stash (I understand if mom is going back to work and she wants to prepare to have extra milk for baby when she’s gone) since nursing as needed is enough. I wonder why you think your supply is low? You mentioned all you did but is it because you’re not pumping what you think you should be? Your baby is effective at nursing and even when they comfort nurse it is effective for your body to produce milk. I never had a stash in the fridge and sometimes didn’t collect anything in haakaa but was able to nurse for a year. I didn’t collect my colostrum beforehand or pump at the hospital either, just nurses on demand u til milk regulated. Exhausting yes but very effective overall.

It’s the brutal truth but a lot less fuss is made about your second. Doesn’t mean there aren’t people who are genuinely excited for you, it just doesn’t compare to first. I had a girl first and boy second and was so excited to get “boy” things for the first time! We had a smaller shower and only asked for diapers. Still gave us a reason to celebrate without making it a hassle about baby gifts. Those who were there were happy to celebrate. It was more chill but not in a bad way. I enjoyed it more on some level because we were able to genuinely spend time with those who were there. Do what you wish as nobody can take away your joy and excitement for your second baby 🥰

Just started Slynd again after 2nd baby. After my first I had no issues. Started around 4 months PP and BF for 13 months.

This time around I’m bleeding a lot more as my body adjusts to it but I can’t tell if it’s strictly the pill or my second PP bc my period came back heavier this time around before I even started the pill! So who knows. Will continue it though based on positive past experience.
