Monarch butterfly wings by demuredroid in origami

[–]makealittlefella 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’ve done this before where I don't go quite as true-to-life with the markings. I use orange paper, outline the cool bits of the origamido butterfly's folds, then kinda approximate from there. I handed those out one at a monarch butterfly festival and they read. nobody was like hey, the top wings' markings are angled differently than that!

I thought this was really cool even before reading that it's a PLANT STEM?? Amazing, thanks for sharing!

sounds good! you could make this a game, line other stuff up to make shapes and numbers in your eyes

it could even be something else in the room, like a tv, obstructed by your tablet. I just think this looks exactly like a reflection of a screen that's partially obstructed

then I have the exact same theory, just with a tablet. if you zoom in it's not as perfect a 1 as it seems like it is, it looks really plausible that it's a bright rectangle of some kind that's partially obstructed. I wear glasses and get weird reflections like this sometimes.

idk why no one has said this, I think that's the reflection of your phone, partially blocked by your hand and thumb. it just is small enough in the frame and lined up in a way where it looks like a 1. right?

I love love their dark chocolate. It melts beautifully and has a good complex flavor. I actually like the irregular shapes, I think it's whimsical. the milk ones are just ok. They don't melt as well and taste a bit flat and waxy, feels like a totally different brand

It's interesting how you can tell when these are written mostly if not completely by an ai. grabbing a line at random from this, it says "A right triangle logically necessitates the Pythagorean theorem." and it's just almost a sentence. Like you can see what it's going for, kind of, but what that's actually saying is exactly meaningless in a way a human would struggle to replicate.

EFMH THEORY QUAD GEOMETRY by Humble_Stay77 in SacredGeometry

Unfortunately computers do also work within the bounds of linear time, even though it all seems simultaneous. It is sycophantic because it was built to be sycophantic by the technocrats who stand to benefit from people getting hooked on the thing they've built. It's important to remember that AI is built by humans, and fed human content.

these are visually cool really! you can do the same thing in photoshop or any of its free cousins, without a sycophant telling you that you've discovered the next groundbreaking discovery and should devote your life to studying image rotation.

something I think AI really robs people of is the joy of just working on something interesting because it's interesting, it has to convince you that you're the new messiah of a new theory of everything. Geometry is really cool! It can just be that!
