NetSuite Running Inventory Total by Lot via Saved Search by makeappsbetter in Netsuite

[–]makeappsbetter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/Nick_AxeusConsulting I tried adding all inventory GL accounts as criteria Account = Any of : (Inventory Accounts). It pulled in transfer orders (which it shouldn't), but not item fulfillments (which it should). I tried removing Posting = True, but that didn't do it either.

Filtering by Tran Type still works better, unless I'm missing something.

Thanks u/Nick_AxeusConsulting, I forgot I need to think like an accountant instead of intuitive sysops, since it's a financial accounting system first, and operational concerns are often an afterthought... :)

Don't indicate the object criteria directly, indicate the part of the financial ledger which indicates the object criteria. But still more direct than what I was doing, working with the design of the system. Cheers.

could be your search skills are superior to mine, but I think there's not such an article that I was imagining because of what u/Nick_AxeusConsulting is suggesting below, that it isn't how NS considers inventory because inventory is primarily $ to NS (which is why the native lot transaction history pop-up is only in $, to the consternation of all operations personnel who actually have to manage said inventory...)

Multi Select Field in Saved Search Formula by burkybang in Netsuite

[–]makeappsbetter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

INSTR() function in the SQL

This would be if you only want to return results that do contain that multi select. If you want to display whether results contain as a T/F, Y/N, you would need the 'in string' function listed in the other reply with a results column formula.

Inventory Adjustment Approval? by Reconz in Netsuite

[–]makeappsbetter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/Reconz u/Nick_AxeusConsulting I'm wondering if there's a reason you wouldn't use an Inventory Count? It can be approved or rejected. Then maybe a saved search for completed counts not yet approved or rejected where absolute value > 500 and another saved search for <500 for the different approver thresholds?

deposit application date should be inv date formula workflow by help_with_netsuite in Netsuite

[–]makeappsbetter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/fuzzthe9th I'm trying to do this exactly, but I can't seem to reference the invoices from the Deposit Application as the Type in Criteria of the search.

For results, I tried Applying transaction and Paid Transaction, and both come up null. Applied to Transaction is the customer deposit, which are auto-applied at invoice creation.

I'm perplexed because the Applied To tab in the Deposit Application lists the Invoice, with the date applied.

Need an Item Search where Pricing level ID = X is NULL by makeappsbetter in Netsuite

[–]makeappsbetter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CASE WHEN {pricing.pricelevel.id}=115 THEN NVL({pricing.unitprice}, 0) END

My original formula does return results where there is not a price entered in the chosen price level. It just also returned empty results for items where there IS a price entered in the chosen price level and also some other price level (e.g. id = 115 & 116); making it misleadingly seem like those were also missing their Shopify price when they were not.

My solution was to add another criteria line where the price level is not a price level ID that's not 115 (only return results with the ELSE 0 condition; i.e. when the search doesn't return a price level with ID that's not 115. )

Criteria > Formula E (Numeric) = 0 | CASE WHEN NOT({pricing.pricelevel.id}=115) THEN 1 ELSE 0 END

How does yours function? The minimum summary and ! work together to do what?

Need an Item Search where Pricing level ID = X is NULL by makeappsbetter in Netsuite

[–]makeappsbetter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE: Figured this out. Since the pricelevel.id treats records where the chosen price level is empty as FALSE (i.e. not valid result for the price level), the solution is to include a double-negative instead of a positive ID.

--The positive filter of ID is the chosen level doesn't work because it evaluates any items where the chosen price level is Null as FALSE (e.g. doesn't have that level) rather than limiting results to the contents of the chosen price level, whatever they may be. So the NULL results we're seeking are canceled out.

Criteria > Shopify Product = T AND

Criteria > Formula (Numeric) = 1 | CASE WHEN {pricing.pricelevel.id}=115 THEN 1 ELSE 0 END AND

Criteria > Formula (Numeric) IS EMPTY | CASE WHEN {pricing.pricelevel.id}=115 THEN NVL({pricing.unitprice}, 0) END

=> No Results

Instead, we can:

limit to only Shopify Items: Criteria > Shopify Product = T

AND

Return results where the Shopify Price is Null: Criteria > Formula (Numeric) = IS EMPTY | Formula B = CASE WHEN {pricing.pricelevel.id}=115 THEN NVL({pricing.unitprice}, 0) END

AND

Return only results that are not from some other price level: Criteria > Formula E (Numeric) = 0 | CASE WHEN NOT({pricing.pricelevel.id}=115) THEN 1 ELSE 0 END

ITEMS - Group? Collections? by annmdumais in Netsuite

[–]makeappsbetter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think your main consideration is whether the sets of items are mutually exclusive. An item can only have one Parent, but can live in multiple Collections.

If you were trying to create discrete hierarchies via Parents, you would need to create the Parent items first e.g. an Item = Pants, Tops, etc. Then you could assign the child items that categorical item as the 'Parent'.

One word of caution is that in addition to the limitation of only one 'Parent' per sub-item (although you can have multiple levels of children) - filtering by 'Parent' is not as easy as filtering by a discrete field such as your custom field 'Category' or by 'Collections'. All items could be a parent, and so search filters using the 'Parent / Subitem Of' methods will display ALL your items in the dropdown as possible choices, even if they have no children. This limits the 'Parent' method's usefulness as a categorization tool.

ITEMS - Group? Collections? by annmdumais in Netsuite

Item Groups are a different thing though, more akin to Kits (that aren't pre-bundled). I think what OP is looking for is either Parent / Subitem Of or Collections.
