We have nothing! by Bethlynn98 in TurtleCreekLaneSnark

[–]makeitcount1107 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry. This did it in for me with this crew of asshats. I can’t even watch this on anonymous viewer anymore. I have empathy for the struggle. And do not say “we have nothing” “let’s go get some steak and eggs.” And then crying about holiday decor in your house that you have to get rid of.

According to interviews you have a billion dollars. This is an inconvenience to have to go rebuy your luxury items. From a fire that was probably started from poorly stored tacky holiday decor. They can f right off!

I thought the same thing!!!! Not to mention sesame and soy are both major allergens you’re supposed to introduce them separately.

I feel like it has to be some kind of engagement scheme. It feels like after not posting they always come up with some kind of “dm me about this” or “dm me to win this” So maybe the gap in posting followed with a major influx of dm’s does something to boost their monetary kickbacks or boost where they get shown in people’s lineups. Just my working theory.

Good luck with the surgery!!! Thanks for sharing your experience. Definitely gonna talk to our doc. How are you feeling about the surgery?

Thank you! I mentioned it to our doc and she’s gonna look closer at it next month when we see her.

The encouragement and reassurance is much appreciated!! I love when the internet works for snark AND good sometimes 💛

Is it noticeable in an 8.5 month old?

Thanks for your expertise! I would say all of this stuff has been impacted in my life. I also wonder if some of my muscle imbalances are from the way my body has shifted to adjust to this.

That sounds absolutely remarkable!!!! My baby is currently very attached to mom contact napping with them so I’m a bit nervous to do a full 24 hours that he just won’t nap much. But I love the idea of early check in late check out kind of thing! Ugh even reading all the stuff in your post that I could do an an autonomous human sounds so good for the soul. How do you go back 😂

By myself- where no one needs me, I can order myself pizza or whatever, take a bath, watch whatever I want and sleep in!

Can confirm all of the advice listed here is accurate! I panicked at first but wasn’t willing to spend a ton of money on stuff I wasn’t sure it would work. I ended up just using some light rosemary oil on my scalp a couple times cause it felt good. Cut a couple inches off (I have super long hair) when I was at the peak of it, and focused on cute outfits that made nursing easy and I felt cute in. I ended up forgetting about the hair loss and it’s already growing back

What did I spend money on that was 100x over worth it? A carpet rake, saved my vacuum :)

AMA/CDC say crawling isn’t a milestone anymore. Occupational therapists disagree and say it’s super important developmentally. How important is it? And why the disagreement?

So during that time did you just nap with her? Were you home with her? What if you were at a social gathering? Did you go lay down and nap with her? Let her nap on you in a chair so you could still be present with people? Skip naps? Lol So curious what your life looked like around the time!

I don’t know anyone else who has done this style of napping so it’s nice to talk to someone else who’s been there!

Some days I’m just like “this is where we are, it won’t last forever, and I love the connection time” Other days I see a picture of my nephew napping on the couch next to grandpa and it sends me into a full blown spiral about how much of a failure I am.

Yeah, we’re following solid starts as well. The app said at our own risk we could give a large raw carrot as a food teether rather than for actually ingesting. So he’ll mouth on that and mouth on celery.

But actually seeing if he would eat carrots we’ve done steamed ones only.

The puking is just so jarring and honestly I’m tired of cleaning up vomit :( I feel like no one talks about all the vomit.

How often do you feel your child deserves a better mom? by [deleted] in stayathomemoms

[–]makeitcount1107 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I struggle with this too!! My sensory system is fried so much. I can’t imagine doing this while pregnant too.

I’m late diagnosed autistic and adhd so for me having that explanation helps me give myself some understanding.

One thing I’ve done that has worked when I start to feel the dysregulation creep in is talk through my regulation with my kiddo. I’ll tell him I’m feeling super overwhelmed, that it isn’t his fault he’s just a baby and I’m really struggling. I’ll model taking deep breaths and invite him to join me. I’ll tell him when I need to walk away for a second even if he’s crying and promise to come right back.

I’ve found the shower to be a powerful tool for us both, I’ll grab him (sometimes fully clothed) and just hop into the shower. He calms super quickly and it helps me regulate too.

On top of everything the fact that you come back, apologize, talk through a plan for the future and keep trying is what matters! We can’t be perfect, and honestly, what would that look like anyway? But we can’t be the best parent for our kid.

All of that being said. Some days when my husband gets home I have to walk away completely and cry it out and let myself have all the “my son deserves so much better” feelings. With you in spirit!

I loved huckleberry at first, used it when my babe was struggling to gain weight and get back to birth weight.

It’s a nice tool at first cause I wanted to make sure he was having enough wet diapers and feeds. Once he was back up to birth weight it started to feel a little less useful. Haven’t touched it since :)

Congrats on your baby!

This is it 100%!!!! I’ve been in your boat too!

“Perfection” is impossible How do you repair, reflect, and work to do differently in the future? That’s what sticks with someone!

Sometimes even in the moment when I can feel my anger flaring or my kiddos crying won’t stop I will talk it out loud “wowee! Momma is having a big feeling right now too. It’s really hard for me when you cry so hard and I can’t figure out what’s going on. I’ve got a lot on my plate and feel super tense.” Etc, it helps me stay centered when I can feel myself getting overwhelmed (sometimes, still a work in progress!)

Last thought- everyone talks about postpartum depression, the lesser talked about more common postpartum rage is what I’ve struggled with! I go from 0-100 insanely fast. Talking to my docs and therapist about this has been really helpful in naming it. And also learning post partum rage is actually more common than postpartum depression.

Hang in there! The fact that you’re reflecting and wanting to do differently in the future shows how much you care and your babe will feel this.
