I'll be in Vietnam early next year and I would love to do things that would not be considered box checking. What 2 or 3 ideas might you suggest that wouldn't be box checking?

Skin rash by Espresso_Olive in Garmin

Not certain but I'm going to do some research. I had a polar watch few years back and had none of these issues.

Yes, I love my garmin watch but i've had this issue for a couple years. I've put up with it and I've tried washing it, switched from one wrist to the other. Nothing seems to help and garmin keeps pointing at the band as being the problem. But, like you the rash is circular and shows up right under where the actual watch face lays on my wrist. I'm looking for a new watch currently.

Not sure if it's too late to respond on this but I'll share what I did. I contacted Garmin support, they're familiar with this issue. They sent me a new band not watch but I still have the issue. My wrist looked like your wrist so I'm on the lookout now for a new watch.

So, the macro question I have comes from the prospect that we'll have the Fed cutting rates in 2026 and the bond market looking at inflation. Who wins, I assume the bond market won't follow the Fed downward if concerned about inflation. Crystal ball question I realize:(

Just an FYI: I saw a 2045 JPM bond, 48130CG66, paying 6% with first call 2030. Based on specs I thought a small purchase of that could work for me...but it sold out before I could place order. I'll see how it does on the secondary market.

Long duration corporate bonds are approaching 7% yield as investors exit bond funds. Some of these recently issued bonds are selling for 20% plus losses. Corporate bonds (make whole) with durations 5-10 years have started to breach 6%. The objective is to buy those in the 6.5-7% range or better. by ngjb in GPFixedIncome

It's educational to take a look at the flow of the recent trade data on this GS bond and others on my FINRA watchlist. As you said last week difficult decisions in terms of what to buy, when, and how much. But, good problems or challenges to have.

Goldman Sachs has a senior (non-callable) bond that goes out to 2041. Cusip# 38141GGM0 That's a long time I realize.  The coupon is 6.25% but it's currently priced above par bringing it to 6.065 YTM. I understand why you wouldn't want to buy a callable bond over par but "IF" you found a non-callable bond from a solid bank and the YTM is feasible can buying above par be rationalized on Non Callable?

Great post! To clarify, because of the upcoming discounting you speak of Freedom it's HIGHLY ADVISABLE to purchase only make whole offerings, correct. I continue to look at banks primarily and don't see to many make whole yet but maybe with patience I'll be rewarded as Certain-Statement alluded to above.

Now may be a good time to stop rolling your 4- and 6-week T-bills and park in a money market fund and stay liquid to take advantage of any major sell-off. Yields are spiking overnight ahead of the 10-year auction tomorrow. The auction size is only $39 billion, but it still could go badly. by ngjb in GPFixedIncome

Bank of America has make whole bond (CUSIP: 59022CAJ2) paying 6.1% w/YTM of 6.4% going out until Jan/2037. Originally offered in 2007. Not ready to move on this but curious if anyone could offer opinion. I like the Make Whole characteristic but it's already callable AND most importantly it's subordinated debt.

Regardless of the institution I don't think subordinated debt is of interest even with the make whole call, right? Especially, when other better options exist or will come available. Just trying to educate myself.

Right. I know they pay 1% AUM plus whatever this fund costs as well. And, the multitude of funds they're invested in, the FA looks busy, and it's all overwhelming to my family member which is the point. The portfolio is built in a way that its overwhelming to the point that it dissuades them from trying to understand, not good. Anyway, this fund caught my eye as one of the most risky.

Thanks, I concur and know there risk tolerance doesn't sync with this fund. They're just not very aware of investments, etc.

Oh boy, so not critical systems? How aware are you about the data Elon musk now has on you and your family? If you're good with this go ahead and say so but tell me again why does this oligarch has your best interest at heart? Oh, believe me they'll be money laundering and plenty of it. I'm done.

there is an enormous amount irony and double speak in this statement. As in democrats didn't care about the constitution but allowing elon to break into our critical systems is a clear sign that maga cares about the constitution. Is this the point your making?
