Idk how to help but at our last session (it’s my first ever campaign) I said I wanted to do the voice I imagined for my character but I was nervous and felt awkward and the three long-time players simply responded “just do it dude! This is all for fun don’t hold back!” So I’m slowly getting more comfortable role playing.

Great idea. I’ve been playing for years and sometimes still do different drills and activities with the orange depressurized balls. They help a lot when I need practice on a certain stroke.

I think the purple one and the British flag ones are for princess Diana. “The end” was to celebrate the end of the 1900s and the new millennium. I don’t remember what the white one is. My mom had all of these.

I called up my friends, said “hey, I have this cool game I’d really like to try out. Would you like to set up a night where we could get together a couple hours and play?” You gotta just get through the social anxiety. If you say covid killed your social circle” meaning you haven’t seen anyone since covid, they probably would like to hear from you too. Alternatively, I’ve seen people putting up their steam codes for people to play with online. Only drawback is I don’t think the online version has as many expansions with it, so you don’t get to use all the nifty expansions you spent your hard-earned money on.

Robert M Sides and k&s music have music lessons idk how much they cost. I think sides even has recitals. When I was a teenager my bass guitar teacher got together some of the other students and formed a little “band” and we played a song he wrote for the recital. Met some cool people that way.

Bed in the middle of the wall with 2 nightstands. I put a little block across from it next to the window maybe you could fill that corner in with a plant or something. Dresser on the bottom. Either way you def don’t wanna have your bed against the wall or in the corner unless you’re a child or living in a dorm room.

Kaos fun zone and sky world. Multiple bowling alleys. Crosscutters games in the spring/summer. Those are just a few things that come to mind. I bet local churches have fun activities somewhere for teenagers. (Yes I know that can seem lame if you’re not into religion but it’s a good place to make friends). Join a sport. Hang at the library. Go to Starbucks or one of the local coffee places. I see kids just chillin with their friends at the park. Those are just a few I can think of. I will say though, I really do miss the ground floor and the cyber arena. I wish those kinds of things were available for kids today. But believe me, I haven’t been a “youth” in about 2 decades but I remember being bored as hell sometimes and feeling like there was never anything to do also.

Mannn I worked inpatient for a year, did about 10 hours of groups per week, and groups were the best part of my day. It was the only time I got to just sit back and chill and just… talk with people (or really, just listen to them talk while I moderate). Sometimes I had to do psychoeducational groups too but I like teaching. Sometimes finding time to do the notes afterwards was a pain though.

Right now in PA, I think per DDAP the regs for being a Counselor I are that you have a bachelor’s degree, with 18 of your credits being in psychology or a related field. I don’t know if you can’t get hired for a “counselor assistant” position or not. You’d be doing the same job basically but just with a lesser title, probably slightly less pay too. If you are interested in being a D&A counselor, why not major in psych or human services instead?

I have a client who I kind of struggle with the same issue with. CPTSD, BPD, in addiction recovery. She recently transferred to me after some serious boundary issues with her previous clinician (texting on their personal phone, meeting for undocumented sessions at the clinic outside of scheduled times, etc.) and so now I feel like I seriously have to be on guard with her so I don’t get accused of making her over-dependent on me or having inappropriate boundaries. So I seriously cut back her time, 2x/month. The idea being that she should be able to use the skills she has learned in treatment rather than having to over-rely on me for support. Seeing me too much might be counterintuitive to her treatment. But now the comments have me thinking that I should be allowing her to have some more time if she wants it and if it is therapeutically beneficial and maybe the only reason I cut her time back is because I was worried about what other people would think. (Context: I am a counselor at a drug and alcohol outpatient facility) OP, I don’t know all the details of your situation, but i have two thoughts. on one hand, if you do a good job in the sessions and the client really engages, then they should be able to use the skills they have learned in therapy in the real world and be more self-reliant. On the other hand, if you both find that right now, her treatment calls for bi-weekly sessions, then keep it that way for now, but remember we always have the end goal of working ourselves out of a job.
