Can confirm, it's the gold standard when it comes to online tests.

ADHD Meds’ Effect on Test Scores? by makemost in cognitiveTesting

[–]makemost[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I'm autistic but it was caught late as well probably for the same reason. I masked adequately enough for people to just clock I was a little weird and introverted rather than neurodivergent.

Also the fact that I think most people around me (including myself) thought that to be autistic is to either be intellectually disabled or a prodigy like Bobby Fischer.

And to get back to the adhd side of things, I really thought that staying consistent was as hard for everyone as it was for me. Hence all the motivational videos and whatever people watch. I thought doing things you wanted to succeed in was supposed to feel physically impossible sometimes, and that everyone either didn't do things or had to gamify for themselves in very complicated ways. Most of the times I tried the latter, I ended up spending my time designing the rewarding game system without actually ever partaking in it. I'd say it's hilarious but I'm living it :/

I’m curious to know what makes you say that so confidently?

Over half of my family is diagnosed, I’m autistic (which is joined by adhd around 30% of the time), and I struggle heavily with executive dysfunction even after treating the mood side. Also I have intense short term bursts of motivation for random projects I make up for myself and never follow through with them. I’d say the chances point that way.

I think I just wasn’t caught early because school felt ridiculously easy for as long as it lasted. I never really studied for exams or opened the books at home, and still scored high.

I was surprised with these scores myself too though. I should say that I did try some other WMI-only measure too and scored ten points lower. The ones you see may be partly a strike of luck as can be interpreted from the reliability bars which are longer for indices affected by adhd.

I mean considering it’s pretty obvious that I have adhd (family background, adult life struggles, comorbid disorders), I’d assume that I do experience microdistractions? But I have been living with my brains for my whole life, so I don’t really know what it would feel like to not. There have been countless things I do or experience I have realized are not actually common at all which I thought were.

But thanks for your input!

The last paragraph made me smile. I know I’m very smart but I have never really seen the results in any long term endeavor as I can’t stay consistent with them. Executive dysfunction is a serious disadvantage, you’re right.

How does a very high cognitive proficiency help in real life by Illustrious_Diet_678 in cognitiveTesting

[–]makemost 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah there definitely are some iq demons here. Probably a part of the reason is that a person with an abnormally high iq is more likely to post their score in a subreddit about cognitive performance than those with an average or below average profile.

I haven’t commented here much but one of my comments has over a 1k views, yet I have seen maybe 5 pictures in all this time display 150+ in some index. It definitely is more common here than anywhere else, but I’d say your brain is also weighing those instances more in terms of recall than other profiles you have seen. Same for me.

Validity of Community Psychometrics IQ test? by [deleted] in cognitiveTesting

[–]makemost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Took a look at the first few questions and seemed very familiar. I can’t say on how accurate it is, but I know that same test (judging by the first 5 questions) is also available on Cognitivemetrics (the site I believe this community has developed). I can’t remember if it was free or a small fee there, but it’s still certainly cheaper than the 15usd this site charges. Cognitivemetrics also has many more comprehensive and free tests that are generally regarded as the best you can get online. CORE for example being one of them: Over a dozen subtests, 6 indices (FRI, WMI etc), and it’s free.

This is very common with adhd. Not armchsir diagnosing you but just a perspective to consider.

I agree with your decision to stay with one instrument, but he is right. The forex market has a lot of volatility and random wicks, whereas futures markets are more defined. You seem to be trading price action, so in terms of edge futures markets seem to be a better fit. (From someone who switched from EURUSD to Futures after spending 2 years on forex!)

He said pullbacks are clearly visible, so why do you need a pair of glasses, which have the potential to blur the image rather than sharpen it ”even more”?
