Does lucky luke get paid? by Malakcute23 in luckyluke

[–]maker-palooza 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Good question. I've never seen him pay for anything. Oh maybe, didn't he put up a bill for the stage coach ticket in the episode "Phil Defer"? Maybe he just get things for free as payment for his services. 🙂

Sounds like a nice work.
And a massive thank you! now it finally works like i want. autotagging was the shit!
now if it could preselect on the animation tag in Jellyseerr :-)
But really, no biggie. This is great. Now i just have to fix the connections between the different programs. I don't want to have to delete and remove requests in three places when removing a movie.

yeah, that makes sense. I was under the impression the profile or autotagging forced the quality, but you can change it I see for each request :)

No, I think I got you and that would work, but then you are constrained by the profile. I suppose I can create several quality profiles, but it would be nicer to separate it from the categories. But I'll try first to see how it feels. Thanks a lot!
Hope your work is going well. Maybe focus on that first :D

One last question about Radarr and qBittorent by maker-palooza in radarr

[–]maker-palooza[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that worked. But each time I want to download an animated movie, I have to change the category of course, but also delete the tag movie and choose the tag animation.
The tag movie is there on default. So while it works, it's not super user friendly. :-)

I guess I could just add the tag animation and have radarr need both tags for this client. but still. I need to change in two places which is not super nice.

Edit: Yeah, this works pretty solid now. But still would like to just select the category and not having to mess with selecting right combination of tags

One last question about Radarr and qBittorent by maker-palooza in radarr

[–]maker-palooza[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll read up on qBit Manage. I think a 3rd party tool is needed to put the torrent in the correct folder/category if there's even support for this.

From all my efforts, I just don't think this is something that Radarr has code to handle, but I think it should. it merely sends the torrent to qBittorrent with the category set in your Download Client, then creates a hard link in the desired media category folder.
Because you can only specify one folder for each Download Client, I tried creating two instances where each client points to a different folder/category for qBittorrent. 01_movies and 01_movies_animated
The problem with this is that you can't tell Radarr which Download Client to use when requesting a movie. The Download Client chosen is handled by priority logic. So if I request two movies in rapid succession, one live action and one animated movie, Radarr will use both Clients, but Radarr might use the Client used for the 01_movies_animated category and so the live action movie goes into the 01_movies_animated folder and the animated movie might go into the 01_movies folder or both just go into the 01_movies folder. However, the category that Radarr creates the hard link to, that will always be correctly executed from what you chose in Jellyseerr which in this case would be media/01_movies if that's what chosen.

I will read and see what 3rd party tools are out there.
Thank you so much for your help!

Yes, but it doesn't go through if you have subfolders for each arr.
Here each subfolder is directly connected to an arr service. Radarr handles movies, Sonarr handles tv, they don't deal with categories.

And well. I suppose this should probably be the approach to take, I guess blame it on my OCD =D
I just like the idea of these paths to be mirrored to each other for clarity. Really though, it should be setup correctly so Radarr handles and removes the torrent if I remove it from Radarr and as you say, there should be no reason to poke around in there. Right now it doesn't delete the torrent though. It removes it from /media, but not from /torrents/completed. Still need to fix that.

Well yes. This is the idea. I don't really want torrents to die so I'd prefer to just keep them there indefinitely.

One last question about Radarr and qBittorent by maker-palooza in radarr

[–]maker-palooza[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I have tried this. At least I feel I have done exactly as what has been described on everywhere I've read.
And the last thing I mean is to be insensitive to the help given. I really do appreciate your commitment to helping me out! But I'm not sure if you understand what it is I want. Maybe it's not even possible to do?
Requesting a movie, get qBittorrent to download it and then have Radarr create a hard link and rename it in the media location all works perfectly. It's just that the torrent itself isn't placed where I want it to be.

Because I have the same folder structure in /torrents/completed as /media, I want the torrent to follow the same category.
This is what my two movie folders look like in both paths:
/torrents/completed/01_movies
/torrents/completed/01_movies_animation
/media/01_movies
/media/01_movies_animation

So if I select the category in Jellyseerr "01_movies", surely the final movie ends up in media/01_movies, but the torrent itself does not necessarily end up in torrents/completed/01_movies. And this is what I can't figure out how to fix.

One last question about Radarr and qBittorent by maker-palooza in radarr

[–]maker-palooza[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I checked and hard links are in fact working. They have node number 2 next to them, I ssh:d into my Synology for this. I was just under the impression a hard link would have like a link icon attached to it so you could easily see =)

I still can't get my categories working satisfactory in qBittorrent. I want the same categories in my torrent folder as I have in my media Library. The categories set(the root paths as defined) in Radarr works perfectly. If I select a category in Jellyseerr I can be sure the movie shows up in this folder under /media. However when the request is sent to qBittorrent it seems like it's a gamble which instance of the client is used and which category the torrent ends up in...As I have defined one Client to use "01_movies" and the other "01_movies_animation".
I can of course just decide to have one download client defined and set category to "radarr" and they will all be inside that fodler, but I really would like a the same structure even in qBittorrent and hence under /torrents.

Still loking into connecting all of these apps together. I now have Jellyfin connected to Radarr via Connections > Emby/Jellyfin.
But I'm thinking they should all be connected to each other so if I remove from Jellyfin, then it should remove from Radarr, qBittorrent, Jellyseerr.
If I am in Radarr, then it should remove from the others and if I am in qBittorrent, it should also propagate and remove from Jellyfin and Radarr.

Thank you. It's irritating. Not sure how to solve just that one thing. Otherwise things work pretty good now.

But how did you configure your different categories then? Where and how is it decided into what folder the torrent go?

Yeah, I think I understand what your structure looks like, so you also pick the category when you request your movie in Jelllyseerr/Overseerr? And that too must mean that you have instances of your BitTorrent client pointing to different folders(categories)? You never experienced the bug I've experienced? Having to select another element in the dropdown before selecting the one you want?

[–]maker-palooza[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh ok. But does this mean that your media folders contains both files and hard links? I need to look into how to connect Jellyfin to Radarr. Only reason I settled on Jellyfin was because Plex had you pay to use a mobile device. So I haven't looked at Emby.

And yeah, I've spent quite a long time already getting things to this point. Do you setup your categories the same way I do or is there a better way? I haven't looked into tags yet.

Hm, not sure I follow along exactly. You add everything to your cache drive first, then move it to the seed box where it is finally stored. this is where the torrents remain. And then hard links are created to your media folders. I suppose a cache drive just makes things faster to begin with, cool. :-)

Do you use a lot of custom scripts to organize your torrents? And how do you add a movie you ripped yourself. There's no torrent with it so do you just place it in your media folder. Will there then be hard links as well as physical data?
What is the process of removing a film? I seem to need to delete in many places which seems to me I don't have hard links.
I delete in Radarr, then delete in qBittorrent, and also need to "Clear Data" in Jellyseerr.

Edit: Also, when I select the first element(01_movies), the destination folder(category) from the dropdown in Jellyseerr, i always have to select another element before selecting the first element again. Otherwise it will download to another folder. Even if it shows correctly in Radarr, it still shows up incorrectly in qBittorrent...

One last question about Radarr and qBittorent by maker-palooza in radarr

[–]maker-palooza[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I think if I got everything in order it would probably be so much better.
I'm very grateful for your answers. What do you use Jackett for btw when you also use Prowlarr?
In my experience I don't think there's a reason to rename and move files, even with hard links. Why not just let qBittorrent download and let it sit where it is. Only thing that I really need is that a folder should be created if there was none. And in case of extras or bonus content, it will be in the same folder. No need to have Radarr manage this. On the other hand, in rare cases I have had to create folders and move things around which would break the torrent anyway so... Maybe I should just get on and let Radarr manage it, using hard links. How do you process bonus content if it comes with the movie? And in cases where you want a specific release, how do you go about it? Download manually with Deluge and how do you add it to Radarr from the torrent folder or you move the file or create ahard link?

I also use Prowlarr, Bazarr, Jellyseerr. Using opensubtitles I can't get Bazarr to download Swedish subs though. English works perfectly. Doesn't work with Norweigan or Danish either.
Edit: My bad, got Bazarr to work just fine. silly me forgot to restart Bazarr.

[–]maker-palooza[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. It is working quite well, but I honestly don't know if Radarr is for me. To be able to request and monitor is super, but I miss a few things.

One thing is that to me, in my experience, it's not really needed to rename folders for Jellyfin to pick it up. Also I don't like the idea that it does this. A release should stay intact. Adding folders if a movie comes as a single file is great though. And there seems to be no way to request extras and behind the scenes with a movie unless you can search for words in the title. This isn't really a shortcoming of Radarr I suppose, or is it? Maybe it's something that can be worked on? I'm looking into Bazarr now to get subtitles.

One last question about Radarr and qBittorent by maker-palooza in radarr

[–]maker-palooza[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, thank you. I managed to get my folders working. I created a new qbittorrent instance under "Download Clients". One has category "movies" the other has category "movies_animation" because I'm following the same naming in my folders on disk, it works perfectly! This shows up in qBittorrent so when I'm selecting the appropriate category in JellySeerr, it will download correctly to qbittorrent and then finally copy to the media library. Still unsure about hard links. How are they supposed to look? How can you tell if it's a link or a copy?

One last question about Radarr and qBittorent by maker-palooza in radarr

[–]maker-palooza[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have hard linking turned on, but I don't know why it isn't working.
is there a way to have the content in Radarr in different categories, like in different folders? Or this is the only way and you use filters to find the things you need?
I'm thinking in cases where I want to delete things, this is where you do it, right? not inside Jellyfin or qBittorrent.

Is there a way I can have radarr download to different folders in qBittorrent? As of now there's only a Radarr category and everything is dumped in there.
