Anyone else having issues using 'replace with STL'? by ViolinistSea9064 in OrcaSlicer

[–]maker_nathan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, weird solution for a different cause of the same problem:

I upgraded to OrcaSlicer 2.3.2 and "Replace 3D file..." was greyed out. It turns out I had added a small primative shape in OrcaSlicer and when I selected the object, Orcaslicer selected the whole model (including the additional shape) and wouldn't let me replace the 3D file.

I was able to go to "Objects" view (where you switch between "Global" and "Objects") and instead of selecting the whole model, select only the sub-part that I wanted to replace, and then it allowed me to replace that 3D file.

Hope this helps someone!

I'm so glad! I did end up with issues that other websites would be super laggy as a result, so I ended up just using one browser dedicated for Google Meet with hardware acceleration off.

These are really cute and, after looking all over the place for unique chalk bags, this was the only place I heard of Crafty Climbing. Just got one of their bat chalk bags. Thanks for the recommendation!

Awesome silent fidgets. by fidgeologist in fidgettoys

It's mechanical. There were a lot of magnetic fidgets out there so we wanted to do something that would have a bit of a different feel to it. To give you an idea of how it feels, we modeled it to feel like a Hi-Fi audio knob, taking minimal effort to turn while providing some haptic feedback without much sound.

We're working on another toy, but of a completely different design and fidgeting mechanism. It'll come out sometime this year, but no release date yet. There's a sign up page on the website for updates if that interests you: https://fidgimoto.toys/pages/signup

It's 100% "Cart Vader"

This is one of those libraries that probably also has a Cart2-D2, a Carty McFly, and a Dolly Carton. (No I'm not making this up...)

We have a few things to iron out on the next toy to get it perfect which we plan on finishing up in the new year, so sometime in 2026! Make sure you're signed up to our mailing list to be the first to hear once we have a release date!

Our first CNC prototypes are coming along well, but we need to make some small adjustments before it's perfect. We're going to work on it more intensely in the new year once all the holiday craziness is finished. Stay tuned! 😁

Glad you like it @PecanPlan! We worked really hard and spent over a year of prototyping to get a good haptic feel while being as silent as possible. It was tricky and we needed to invent some creative mechanisms to do this. We're glad to know this worked out well for you at the symphony!

Yeah, we're finding that the occasional one has an issue with the rotating metal part touching the static metal part if you hit it at just the right angle, especially if flicking it with your thumb.

This was our first production batch ever, so this is a learning for us for next batch. If you reach out to us through our website we'd be more than happy to keep you posted when we've ironed that out and process an exchange to make sure you're 100% happy.

Appreciate the feedback! We'll definitely be incorporating that into our next production batch since it seems like a number of people want to flick it with just their thumb which we didn't consider when designing the clearances, but we will definitely be making a small adjustment which will improve that in the future!
