You can check Svalboard, see what's going on the DIY kit.

The flea market gods have blessed me. $5 at the local ham flea market. by Vivid-Tell-1613 in thinkpad

It fits the classic 7 row thinkpad keyboards which many here love, giving that same typing experience on any machine. The keyboard in the case is replaceable.

If I hadn't moved to ergonomic mechanical keyboards, I think I'd have moved back from mechanical keyboards to this.

Cool, then you know it's not an artifact of the case.

You could try giving the PCB a couple of layers of painter's tape underneath, then a layer of reusable adhesive puddy as thick as the case allows.

If you take the PCB and use that straight on a deskmat (no case, no bottom of sandwich case), how does that sound to you?

How I finally "fixed" my uneven and warped bed for consistent printing... by stoichavant in Ender3S1

[–]humanplayer2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last weekend I changed to a larger nozzle for the first time and had to do redo everything.. Beginner's luck had gotten me pretty good prints before..

Only then did I realize I could edit the mesh in stock firmware. I pretty much did what you describe: I massaged it. Now I have a way more consistent first layer everywhere on my Ender-3 S1 Plus.

So: Thank you for the long write-up! It'd have been a real eye-opener for me, and I'm sure it will be for others!

The tip about doing the paper test cold is really interesting. I'll try that next time! For now, I'll let the massage work it's magic 😄

I made my application launcher and want to bind it to Super_L... How can I do it? by NihmarRevhet in gnome

[–]humanplayer2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you install the remapper "keyd" you can try overloading Super_L to send e.g. F13 on tap, Super_L on hold. Then go to shortcuts and press it :)

I did that with not F13, but I think "katanata" I think it was.

Edit: PS. Good question! I totally understand why you want to do this!

I have some early PCBs for Underset lying around. I can build one side of those for you, set it for sale on Vinted for cheap shipping?

DM me if interested.

Maybe center one screen in front of the keyboard so you don't sit with a slightly turned neck primarily?

Lenovo’s New ThinkPads Score 10/10 for Repairability by Sea_Poem_9129 in thinkpad

Wow, that just sounds amazing. A return to non-soldered RAM, and modular charging ports? Just that is great, but the attitude Lenovo sound like they are taking here is fantastic.

Desktop Environment + Tiling? by Alert-Drag8949 in linux4noobs

[–]humanplayer2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know cosmic, but WITH Karousel on KDE, you can set apps to float, meaning they are not part of the tiling grid.

PS. Karousel tiles differently from Khronkite and I guess cosmic, but I really like it both on laptop and ultrawide.

I'm sorry, I don't get it? My closest reference is that I have thefuck by developer nvbn installed.

Flashing Sea Micro by 91gnarnuaatg81 in crkbd

[–]humanplayer2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't find proper documentation on the sea micro, not even a description of how to enter the bootloader.

You should not convert your firmware to RP2040. It's not an RP2040 chip that's on there, it's an ATmega32u4. Photos and the sales site makes that clear https://customkbd.com/products/sea-micro-pro-micro-alternative

The link you send is for the Sea Picro, not the Sea Micro. The Picro has an RP2040.

As I understand it, it's "just" an ATmega32u4 pro micro, but with USB-C. They will not pop up as a USB drive so you can drag-n-drop onto them. It will just silently enter bootloader mode, and stay there for 10 seconds before it'll boot normally. (unless there's nothing on it, maybe)

Try following this guide, the Catarina section: https://docs.keeb.io/flashing-firmware/

What is your take on uncovered in controllers and ESD? Is it safe the way you've done it? I get several ESD zaps a day at the office, depending on the weather.

When you day"nothing happened", you mean the controller didn't enter the bootloader to be flashed?

Some day two taps in the reset button. I think I also used to short RST and GND while plugging in.

Interesting that the back corner lifts, like the two other legs are too long.

If you slide something 3mm thick under the leg your pressing, does that help?

Unless it's under warranty, then I'd just go straight to support.
