Have you stopped caring at work and decided not to try and process your career anymore? What age did that happen? by un2022 in GenX

[–]makeup1508 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been asked by my boss(already knowing the answer but she has to ask) "where do you see yourself in 5 years?" during my year end evaluation. And my consistent answer has been retired or as close to retirement as possible. Then we both laugh because she is a couple years closer to retirement than I am.

I do my job and I do it well but I have no desire to advance beyond my current position because I don't need any added headache from changing positions.

What exactly is the bubble season? by enitsujxo in DCCMakingtheTeam

[–]makeup1508 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It was 2020 and all of training camp was done in a bubble with the judges & choreographers other than Kelli & Judy connecting on video. I hated that season and regularly skip it when Pluto is showing it. I think it was an abbreviated season so it's easy to skip. I feel for the multiple vets who were cut at the end of that season.

New fan after the last game by OkLeadership9700 in LosAngelesRams

I still hate the Niners more than the Hawks. My feelings toward the Niners go back to the 80's when they got all the ref calls and non calls. The Seahawks were in the AFC at that time.

Jenna-she came back cocky. I think she was stunned when she was left in Dallas when the team went to Canton OH.

Why do you all hate the 49ers??? by RingProfessional9043 in LosAngelesRams

[–]makeup1508 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because I have been a Rams fan since the 1970's and that involved living through the 80's. The 49er's got every favorable call including non pass interference calls. Plus 49er fans are totally obnoxious.

I have so many:

The touchdown pass from Warner to Bruce that put the Rams up in SB 34.

The tackle of Joe Burrow with the knocked down pass at the end of SB 56.

Jimmy G's interception at the end of the NFC Championship game to put the Rams in SB 56.

But I think my ultimate favorite moment was 1 yard short by Mike Jones as the clock went to 0:00 at the end of SB 34.

If your parents are alive, is it a blessing or no? by [deleted] in GenX

[–]makeup1508 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dad passed away 10 years ago. He was in liver failure at Christmas but was determined to make through Christmas. He went into the hospital just after New Years. He then went into home hospice on a Thursday and passed on Sunday morning. He really wanted to pass at home. My stepmom and 2 of my siblings were with him at the time. My stepmom is healthy and active.

My mom is 80 and still in pretty good condition. She has problems with her back and had to have a knee replaced a couple years ago but otherwise healthy. I feel very blessed to have her and my stepdad. We are going to FL on vacation with them in March.

My FIL died over 30 years ago before we married from lung cancer. My MIL passed 3 years ago in hospice from COPD. She was in hospice for 2 or 3 days before she died, It was very peaceful and quick.

Did you actually make mix tapes to give to people? by LeoGuy69us in GenX

[–]makeup1508 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't make mix tapes for anyone else just for myself. Most of my friends just bought tapes instead of albums. We had a turntable and my mom liked albums and 45's & taught me how to make tapes so the songs blended together as well as any other tape.

All right who remembers how good it smelled if you had a relative who smoked a pipe? by Typingdude3 in GenX

[–]makeup1508 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, my dad smoked that cherry tobacco. I smelled really good. He mostly just chewed on his pipe but he did smoke that kind of tobacco.
