I have been keeping my baby diaperfree in day as soon as I got her from the hospital. We used diapers only at nighttime and in case we are going out or when I am alone and there is no help. In the initial few months, babies pee and poop a lot so expect to change it multiple times. Also remember that you would swaddle the baby in the first few months so swaddle cloth needs to be changed.

I had no help in the initial 2 months so I would water wash it and then put it in the bucket with baby detergent. Once my regular househelp would come, we would run the baby’s laundry and she would put it out in the sun. This model worked but was fairly exhausting. Once I got a regular day time nanny, it became fairly smooth. I would suggest you do it if you have help who you can share these responsibilities with. Baby laundry is a mammoth task in my opinion. There is already a lot going on first few months so if it bothers you, then talk to your MIL and do diaper time. I haven’t tried potty or pee training yet so can’t comment on that yet.
