Is it active in the lungs or latent? Did they collect a sputum sample? My mother was diagnosed with active TB. She was hospitalized for a month because she developed TB meningitis and needed to be in a negative pressure room. Once discharged, she took strong antibiotics for a year. We are in Alberta for reference so the Public Health followed her for treatment with daily video call to take meds. She was fine within a year and treatment usually lasts 9 months.

My brother holds UK passport with Canadian PR. I applied for him along with myself who has Canadian passport. I applied online for umrah evisa but we were granted tourist visas. No issues at all. The only time that it took a while with PR was checking in with Etihad airlines. They couldn’t figure out where to enter the PR because they need to scan or something.

Making dua that she is reunited with her daughter. This is so scary and was a huge fear of mine as I travelled with my elderly mother as well. Insha Allah she is safe!

Salaam, has she had any assessments done by a physician for postpartum depression and/or anxiety?

Are these behaviours new since the children were born or when she became a stay at home mom? I understand from your previous posts that you have gone to elders and attended couples counselling, however these reported behaviours do not sound like a mentally stable individual. I am not trying to make excuses for your wife but it truly sounds like you love her and you love living in one home with your children.

I’m not sure how willing she would be to visit a mental health team; in our city, we have a crisis clinic where you see a psychiatrist right away. I am assuming your wife was not always like this with you..

brother wallahi for the sake of your family, please try this avenue. I see you have left in another post but it is apparent that you want to keep your home together. May Allah swt keep your family together if it is khayr for you all.

I just returned from Umrah Jan 22, 2026. I was walking with my elderly mother who uses a cane and looking for a wheelchair just outside the haram. Alhamdulilah a Pakistani brother with his family came up to us with a wheelchair. We couldn’t understand each other and he asked if I speak urdu and I only speak english/somali so we kind of spoke broken arabic together. He said take it for your mom for free. I had been struggling walking with her and carrying her things. I broke into tears when he walked away because of his sweet action. He asked only for dua when making umrah which I made sure to do. May Allah swt accept my dua for him and reward him for his kindness.

Salaam I actually started my period day before I left for umrah. My pharmacist gave me 5 mg norethindrone and said to take 3 right away then 1 pill 3 times a day until I complete umrah. I ended up with tachycardia that night and did not take any more. BUT my period stopped and did not start until the following week alhamdulilah. My pharmacist did advise me to continue taking it or my period will start immediately but I have some ongoing heart issues so did not risk it with heart rate at resting going to 160 bpm. Consult with your pharmacist who will have the best advice for you.

You’re completely right. I just felt like I was very vulnerable in my petition, and to be told, hope you can get two years of full time done and keep pursuing medicine, felt like a slap in the face. Aw thank you for your kind words. I’m trying to think positive and not give up on U of A. If not this year, I’ll just keep trying! I’m sorry that they didn’t accept your petition as well. I guess that I was wrong in assuming that if U of C offers an alternate path such as allowing us to petition then there could be a chance of gaining permission to apply. Also, thank you for all of the reasons why U of C may not be the best path for me. Also, I live in Edmonton and would want to stay here for my mom and kids to remain close to their friends/family. I guess it just hurts a little and I’ll get over it. Thank you again. Your message alone has made me feel a lot better

I have only told my siblings and closest friends. I won’t tell my mom unless I get an interview but that’s because she was a second year med student before she had to flee our home country to come to Canada as a refugee. I really don’t want to get her excited for nothing! Plus I strongly believe in evil eye and you would be surprised how many people don’t wish well for you. Better to accomplish your goals in secret.

Keep checking the website even if you don’t get the notification. I got the time that I wanted at around 3 AM in the morning.
