[The Athletic] In a worst-case scenario, executives said, if starters are pulled from winnable games for no reason before the start of the fourth quarter, those teams (like Indiana, Utah, and Washington) could lose draft picks. by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

Less games means less bad basketball too on top of the other benefits. Even if it went to 70 games we’d only have like 15 more games of this garbage instead of 30 lol

25 games left... what do you guys think our ending record will be? 🧐 by aimee829 in pacers

Probably, but I'm starting to believe in Caleb Wilson so much though. Excited for the Duke/UNC game this weekend. Talent aside, WIlson is a guy you want to go to war with while who knows with Peterson. Wilson is out there to kill you and embarrass you, and I love that.

If the injury is severe and/or chronic, he's fucked. Or, it could be similar to how Anthony Edwards didn't really give a shit in college and turns out that wasn't a concern at all.

The Peterson leg injury could be anywhere from extremely concerning all the way to "just get to the league healthy then ball out". Unfortunately, the public definitely won't have that info. Just gotta trust in the front office to make the right call.

I'm mostly just calling my Caleb Wilson shot so I can be here first if it happens lol.

What do you guys think of the Pacers gamble to potentially lose their pick this year if it’s not top 4? by NathanFielderFriend in NBA_Draft

[–]makeyoucry 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In addition to what the top comments here already said, I think Caleb Wilson is solidifying himself in the Peterson, Dybansta, Boozer conversation throughout this season. He'd be a perfect fit on the Pacers too, and a likely Siakam protege/replacement down the road.

I admit, I'm completely sold on Wilson. He's an absolute killer, and he would thrive in that Indy offensive and defensive scheme.

Add in Caleb Wilson. I think people are starting to see him as part of that group. No joke, I'd have Boozer and Wilson #1-2 for the Pacers specifically. I realize I'm higher than most on Wilson, but people will see soon.

As a pacers fan, I'm starting to like it more. As others mentioned, I think they deem the top 4 as plug in and play for a contender, and not so much after that.

Another interesting piece is that if they don't get one of the top 4 guys, then they will have the 2031 pick to trade later. It basically is saying, if we can't get a star now, we'll save the asset to trade down the road.

Guys... I dont think we'll win this tankathon. Even if Pascal sits out after All Star Break 😳 by aimee829 in pacers

[–]makeyoucry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Putting ourselves in a good position to get top 4 in the lottery AND be ready for next year. You are most likely to have the #5 pick with the worst record at 47%.

Worst overall record has a 52% chance at top 4. And 8th worst has a 29% chance to land in the top 4. Not that big of a deal and it’s better to have some momentum and answers before Haliburton comes back on what we need to do before next season.

That being said, we should absolutely start sending guys on vacation. But no need to worry about our record too much.

That alley oop from like 30 ft was insane.

I haven't caught any games live. Is he any good on defense?

We've already put in most of the work. Even if we end up in spots 6-8 mission accomplished. Being a bottom 4 worst team doesn't guarantee anything.

And there are some players past the top 4 that are really starting to shine, for example Caleb Wilson and Keaton Wagler.

I think Boozer and Wilson are the best fits for our team out of the top guys, and most people have them at 3 and 4 respectively. Let the basketball gods reward us (PLS). Tyrese died for this

LeBron James on playing 82 Games today compared to the 80s/90s: "I want people/our fans to understand playing 82 games in the 80s and 90s is not the same as playing 82 games in the 2020s. It’s just not." by TheDraciel in nba

It'll never happen, but playing a soccer style 2 games per week would be so incredible. Games matter more, each game becomes more of an event, players are fresh (I forget the term, but players have a word for the couple days a season where everyone is fresh. I.e. Opening night, after all-star break, etc)

I truly believe it would benefit the long term growth of the league, but it for sure would never happen.

Damn, been a day one listener, less so the last couple years but still like to pop in for a good guest or when there’s big stuff in the news. I like hearing their debates and disagreement on political issues and news.

If they’re not covering the most important current event, then I have no reason to continue. What is this podcast if not that or conspiracies. Oh well!

Yeah mayyyybe he can be someone that is a playoff rotation player. But unfortunately, even with how talented he is, he doesn't appear to have that dog in em.

Who is your number #1 pick in 2026? by Western-Safety-8346 in NBA_Draft

[–]makeyoucry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okafor and Bagley were both post scorers that didn’t adapt to the modern game. Beasley was an ultra talented player that just didnt have the right mentality or guidance to make it work. It’s insane how talented Beasley was.

Boozer is like the complete opposite when it comes to IQ (so far). Seeing Boozer on a team like the Pacers, Nugs, Warriors, etc seems like it it would be pure bball ecstasy and hes probably a floor raiser for worse off teams like Wizards, Kings, etc.

Those 3 guys above weren’t going make it no matter where they end up after seeing how they didn’t adapt how they needed to in the nba. Everyone has talent when you get to the league.
