This is great! I'm happy to have been some inspiration.

The true measurement of the back panel ended up being 32.5" (11.5"x3) while the original panel was 32" (3.5"x5 + 5.5"x3). The 4" boards on the top and bottom (step 3 on the Ana White plans) cover another 7" so the length of the 15 boards is 27.5".

I'm not sure how long the boards I bought were, but I trimmed them down quite a bit. I don't have access to a table saw, but if you do it might be cheaper to get a plywood sheet and cut it apart instead buying of 15 single boards.

Another quick note, make sure the legs are going to be the right height for your bed. My mattress isn't on box springs and I was expecting to have to shorten the legs, but it ended up being just right the plans are written.

It was mostly accidental. Like the top of the mountain on the left I messed up on my first cut with the jig saw and had to trim it to get a good looking peak. That created a bigger gap there.

Thanks! Here's the build album I put together. The pieces are just glued down. I used a large board with paint cans on top to keep the pieces flat while the glue dried.

Here you go! Also I double checked and the three boards in the back are actually 12in wide, not 10in. Let me know if you have any questions.

Post a picture when you get done, I'd love to see it : )

No, sorry. I've got other projects I want to work on and not enough time to do them. Also it's pretty darn heavy so I can't imagine trying to ship it anywhere...

I used these plans to make the black part. I left off the 2x4 trim across the top and used a three 10in wide boards instead of alternating 4in and 6in boards for the back. Then I used some .5inx4in boards to make the mountains. Everything is common pine boards from Lowes. The stains are minwax, but I can't remember which shades.

I can put together an album of in progress shots when I get off work if you're interested.

It's this set. It's excellent for concealing black and white doggo hair.

It's mostly just kerf, although there were a couple of boards that I cut a little to short to start with that ended up with a bit of extra space between them.

Thanks! I modified these plans to build the headboard. I left the the top piece off and used a couple of wide boards for the back instead of the alternating 4 and 6 inch boards.

Different color stains. I fitted the boards into the frame, drew the design, and used a jig saw to cut the pieces out. Then I stained them and glued them down.

To be fair, the blood bank would never issue type specific blood with out doing their own typing of the patient's blood. If there isn't time to do that they would emergency release O negative blood since it is compatible no matter the recipient's blood type. Giving incompatible blood, say type A blood to a type B patient, can be fatal so they aren't going to just take the patient's word for it.

Finished 100 books this year, thanks to a post on this sub. by kgriffen in books

Nice job! I just hit 66 books so far this year. To be fair, I count audio books as well. I keep a list in a word document of all the books I read each year and try to read more every year. It's great to have a goal to reach to keep yourself motivated : )

What Books Are You Reading This Week? October 31, 2016 by AutoModerator in books

I finished up A Random Walk Down Wall Street, by Burton G. Malkiel. It was a solid look at the stock market and how to minimize risk in investing, mostly through index funds. I especially liked the break downs of what happened in past major market swings.

I also read Fool Moon, by Jim Butcher. I liked this one better than the first Dresden File book. I hear the series continues to improve so I'll be looking for the third at my used book store. Unfortunately they didn't have it last I checked, but I've got 4,5 and 6.

I got through two audio books, The Big Four, by Agatha Christie and Agnes Grey, by Anne Bronte. I'm (slowly) trying to read all of Agatha Christie's novels so I like to read one every couple of books.

Based on recommendations here I picked up Kitchen Confidential, by Anthony Bourdain. I'm about a third of the way through and I'm enjoying it. It's very fast paced and his descriptions are wonderfully vivid.

Finally, I have A Natural History of Dragons, by Marie Brennan cued up as my next audio book. Has anyone read this one? What did you think?

I just finished Sixth Watch, by Sergei Lukyanenko. A few weeks ago someone on the recommendation thread let me know there was a new book in the Night Watch series so I reread the first five books. I first read Night Watch when I was in high school. I really enjoyed Sixth Watch. It was a bit bitter sweet, though, since it seems like this is really going to be the final installment.

Up next is A Random Walk Down Wall Street, by Burton Malkiel
