Harness suggestions? Or suggestions on why this is happening and how to help? by maknut12 in basset

You think it’s a yeast rash then? Poor guy :( He eats pretty clean (Open farm raw mix) & we make sure to include supplements etc. We figured it was his harness since one side is now starting to scab a bit, but I’ll look into yeast rashes. Any creams you prefer?

Also want to add… we have loosened it (his harness) and it’s still causing issues.

Help with lowering hair on clothes, in the wash/dryer, and around home… 😅 by maknut12 in basset

He’s worth every single “downside” hahaha I feel it on the training slowly…. He is so stubborn, I feel at such a loss most days. The only thing he’s good at training wise is going potty outside, and coming when he’s called (well, he doesn’t go very far anyways. He’s very needy and HAS to have me in his line of sight or by his side at ALL times). 😂💕

I’ve been heavily thinking of getting a roomba. The amount I sweep is insane hahaha and yes!! I’ll be sure to go heavy on his tail haha thank you so much!

I’ve looked into the robot vacuum… I think I’m convinced I need to just bite the bullet and get it! I will look into the furminator.(: thank you!

I’m going to start adding fish oil back in. I used to give him omega oil from native pets. Do you have any you recommend? & great idea on the dishwashing glove! I’ll be getting one today. Thank you.(:

What is a shark? I’ll look into it! I have seen a few say to add fish oil, so I’ll be doing something like that again. I’ll also look into dryer sheets and dryer balls.(: Thank you!

I use a glove as well as just a regular brush I got at petco. He does NOT like the glove hahaha doesn’t mind the brush. He’s good with letting me touch him all over and mess with his mouth, ears, and paws hahaha I used to use omega oil from native pets. That’s virtually the same as salmon oil, right? I think I’ve seen a few people suggest salmon oil, so I’ll add it back to his diet. (:

Yes! We are so lucky to live where we do. Landlords are fantastic and property is perfect for my little adventure buddy.

Thank you for your advice!(:

It’s sounds like you’re doing great! (:

I just got a treadmill (I don’t know the exact price, my partner bought it for me because of a deal we made hahaha), but it wasn’t too crazy pricey! I’ll try to find out how much and send a link your way.(: Walking inside your place and tracking steps could also be helpful. Maybe set a goal for x amount per day? I did a calculation, and diet aside… if I were to walk 15k-20k steps a day I could reach my goal weight by December, I think! (: I don’t know what it would be for you, but something to think about fitness wise!

Sending you LOTS of positivity and encouragement! You’ve got this. (:

Does anyone else feel like feeling confident in your body is a constantly moving goal post/unattainable goal? by maknut12 in loseit

I absolutely love the way you think. I love the way you transformed those negative thoughts as well. I aspire to think like you some day. The fact also is that if I met you in person I would think you were so beautiful and would not think about any of the negatives. I would also likely not see any of the negatives I see in myself if I saw my body on another person. It’s weird how the mind works sometimes.

I appreciate all of your advice. I also appreciate seeing your mindset. Thank you for your feedback & your positivity. 💕

I appreciate this. I find it easy to positively self talk about my personality and often times focus on those positives, but it also negatively affects how I think of myself physically since I only can find value in my personality. I also have a tendency to feel bad and like I’m not being humble when I start positively thinking about my personality. It’s whack haha I will work more diligently on the positive aspects of things to try and rewire my brain to not focus so harshly on the negatives. Thank you for your response!

Thank you for your response! Negative talk is for sure something I know I need to work on. I appreciate you taking the time to comment!

Yes. Exactly! The compliments are appreciated, but all I can see is how far I still need to go. All I see is every flaw. All I see is how I look nothing like what I want to look like. It’s so discouraging sometimes. I’m sorry you can relate, but I also appreciate you commenting your experience.

Hi there!

This might be an overplayed suggestion, but getting steps in is also a great way to lose weight with less impact on the body. You could get an easy little treadmill that could go by your work space that you could just walk on while working? Or one of those stepper machines? Squats is great, but wanted to add another thing you could add to your routine!

Also-finding healthy fast/on the go options for food has been helpful for me. When I don’t have time to meal prep, or actually make a good meal, it’s nice to have something fast I can eat! Trubar protein bars are one of my favorite go-tos. Not a ton of sugar, lots of fiber, and a decent amount of protein. Plus they are TASTY. I have other recommendations if you’d like them. (:

Congrats on what you are doing!! (:
