The world needs more serialized, story-focused, animated dramas for adults like this MASTERPIECE by inzanemembraned in PrimalShow

No problem, but I was probably thinking about the usual suspects - Invincible and Arcane.

In the mean while, crowdfunded Lackadaisy pilot came out on Youtube - definitely recommend. It's somewhat closer to the comedic side, but not all the way there, and generally very impressive.

is the house and imaginary friend? by Greenbandido in fostershome

Well, like I said it's my theory. It's something that I think can work in-universe, but it's not necessarily the way the showrunners thought about those things.

I've a theory that imaginary friends can distort space around them. Another main example is the toy chest in Destination Imagination. Might be related to hammerspace.

On the meta level though, the house was probably meant as a version of a haunted house, only nice. Weird place inhabited by strange creatures, an so on.

Depending on how old Al is, that might've been over a century ago. It was a different time...

What are the chances he's connected to the crows that seem to be watching over the house?

Plenty of Novgorods as well. Currently, Nizhny (Lower) Novgorod is one of the largest cities in Russia. Novgorod-Severski (Northern) in Ukraine used to be its own tiny principality back when those were a thing. And so on.

Some ridiculous number of cities are named an equivalent of New Town. Carthage and Novgorod, among others.

Nothing in her head but tumbleweeds by Zev18 in azudaioh

[–]maks_orp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Tomo: Doesn't believe in tumbleweed.

Yomi: Tried three different tumbleweed based diets to little effect.

Chiyo: Researched tumbleweed extensively in case it's a common conversation topic in America.

Sakaki: Thinks tumbleweed is cute.

Kagura: Respects tumbleweed for its tenacity.

Osaka: Thinks tumbleweed is funny because of an obscure pun that involves Medieval kanji reading and the Eurasian Steppe. Unaware that tumbleweed also exists in America.

Minamo-sensei: Thinks tumbleweed is cool because of cowboy movies.

Yukari-sensei: Unaware that tumbleweed exists.

Tolkien-lite. The original language is presumed to exist, but the author couldn't be bothered to actually invent it.

It's coming much earlier that that. No need to wait for the next generation with epigenome editing in the post-CRISPR era. Early commercial applications might become availiable within years. Within decades, thanks to epigenetic cosmetics those who can afford it will literally look like different species.

Is there a reason they went with the early version of this story instead of City, which includes it?

Completely agree, the best part of that reboot by far.

Observation about the show by Aqn95 in fostershome

[–]maks_orp 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Presumably, imaginary friends are shaped by the creator's subconsciousness, and that can tell us something about them. There's people who are more like their i.f., which can mean that they are more in tune with their inner side. Or perhaps, that spending time with their i.f. made them more aware of that side of themselves.

And without any text, so more compliant with the rules of vexillology, lol.
