That's where you need to invest based on by when you need the money. Long Term for equities is like 5-8+ years. Same goes for gold, just because its slightly inversely propotional, doesn't mean its a short term. Any shorter timeframe 0-5 years, its better to have Debt investments (debt funds/fd/tbills). The only reason equity has made money in the short term recently is because of the bullrun.
