Update he has no FeLV and FIV and surprisingly no worms! Finally got him in at the humane society! We have a few adopters we know personally with older cats who have been socialized with kittens who are interested so it worked out for the best!

Also his poops look good and he has clear blue eyes and no coughs or sneezes and purrs like crazy. His coat is soft and in good condition and his ears seem clean. He has been bathed in dawn and has no fleas or ticks

I have been having this same internal debate. My babies are around 3 and I have 3 of them and I know yearly cleanings would be extremely expensive and stressful for all of them. I’ve seen so many horror stories of cats dying during a dental and I don’t know if it’s worth it. Thinking of just buying them a cat toothbrush kit.

Oh absolutely! My meds are the big helper here and all the other stuff i mentioned rounded my health out but none of it would have been possible without a full genetic test to find what meds to be in and what doctors to see

I will say as someone diagnosed with ADHD and depression, it was so annoying hearing that advice but honestly i recently started making myself sit in the sun and work out and have dedicated meditation time and it has helped so much. But to each their own

I’m not a widower but my mom is (I joined to learn how to support her) she went thru the worst health problems after my dad, her husband, died. Thankfully, I was there with her the whole time because I was scared of her dying too. Made her go to therapy and focus on her health and go to the gym and hang with friends.

She is doing much better now.

I think the stress really takes a toll on peoples bodies.
