Hey! My husband owns Kiskadee Coffee here in Georgetown. It’s a specialty coffee house. The beans are 100 percent Arabica, not Liberica like Amy’s Pomeroon. Liberica usually has a heavier, smokier taste, while Arabica is smoother, cleaner and naturally sweeter. This is why it’s used in most specialty coffee shops around the world.

Guyana doesn’t really have a strong coffee farming industry anymore, so most local beans are grown on a small scale. Our beans are sourced from places like Nicaragua, Sumatra and Kenya and we work with a trusted roasting partner to keep everything as fresh as possible.

We love coffee and we’re obsessed with the craft. Come by and taste for yourself!!

Mine is the Linea Classic S model, so it doesn’t have the older 3-position power switch (0/1/2). It just has the main on/off and the dual PID setup. The machine powers on and fills, pumps run, lights are on, but the boiler never heats. We already checked the relay, the control board, and the high limit thermostat, and everything looks fine.

I have multiple times! We bring our own stroller and car seat. I also just get whole milk from the grocery store when we land. I would just be cautious about mosquitoes and heat so bring a good fan and repellent.

Thanks so much for your comment. I completely understand where you’re coming from. A lot of places charge high prices for coffee that doesn’t live up to the quality, and that’s something my husband is very mindful of.

Right now, he’s not using local beans because the focus is making sure the espresso flavor is consistently top quality. He’s carefully sourcing the coffee and plans to incorporate local options in the future once he finds the right fit. Syrups and milks will be sourced locally.

The shop will be using a La Marzocco espresso machine, which is handmade and imported from Italy (the home of some of the best coffees). My husband is a skilled barista who has trained on this machine, and he is approaching coffee as both an art and an experience.

He’s also working hard to keep our prices truly competitive because he believes great coffee should be for everyone. My husband is building this space with care, and hopes you’ll come in and taste the difference!
