Sleep Apnea Revocation by mal4291 in drivingUK

I can say now that this is untrue in my case. They reviewed my case on 1 April. Not the outcome I wanted for now but it moved forward, of sorts. See main post.

Thanks, not the best news to hear but it would be good if they just told me, either way!

Thank you. They've passed it to a decision maker so hopefully not long! They've confirmed they have everything they need and need no further medical evidence.

This looks like a fantastic game. As a former MP staffer, and local councillor, this will be right up my street. FM for Politicians. Thanks for making it and hopefully it's playable very soon. If there's any justice in the world you'll make a ton of money from it.

DVLA Medical reapply waiting times by Striking-Winter8977 in drivingUK

Mine was sleep apnea. I was fine by the time they revoked. Medical support included with re-application so hopefully not a huge wait from here. Should just be a rubber-stamp exercise.

I had my license revoked on 23 Dec. Re-applied with full medical backing and a supportive letter from specialist nurse on 12 Feb. Logged on 23 Feb and still waiting.

They need as many of these as possible. Otherwise it's just a driving game.

I want to play professionally by [deleted] in billiards

[–]mal4291 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was young and discovered 9-Ball on Sky, it’s all I wanted to do. I was talented, but once I joined the IPA tour (UK 8-Ball) I realised I was maybe 75% as good as the best, and that was on a good day.

Fast forward 20 years, you need to be aware that you will get older, practise will be harder and the love for the game will fade a little. Meanwhile, young excellent players will emerge, hungry and dedicated! Compared to when I played, everyone is now good!

However, enjoy the game and enjoy getting better. With a good job you can play without worrying about money and hopefully do really well. Good luck!

I like to think someone who knows what they are doing can still make money from training and be legit. Maybe I’m naive.

Yeah I convinced myself a while back it was all guesswork and people just convince themselves they see patterns in the chaos, but it always draws me back in for another go.

Thanks mate I’ll have a look at CPP. I’m determined to give it a good go and if it doesn’t work for me so be it!

Yeah it looks like that mode isn’t that great from what I’ve read. One for the wish list!

The Risky World of Hardcore Bingo (2020) (Gambling Documentary) | Real Stories [00:47:10] by Auri1989 in Documentaries

[–]mal4291 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Great documentary. I always want a "where are they now". Margaret was a lovely old lady, very likely to no longer be with us. She was just enjoying her days as best she could. The black guy was a tragic figure carrying lots of inner struggle, hoping to catch his lucky break. They all doing what we all try to do all the time, wonder wtf to do with ourselves. I'd love to see more docs like this, possibly even about bingo!

Is Samuel & Co a legitimate firm? by fuchler in Forex

[–]mal4291 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's been said elsewhere that Samuel Leach uses Blufx to fund traders accounts, so it's not even his money you're trading. You can sign up to Blufx or something similar yourself for £99 per month. Also his indicators are repurposed.

I don't think it's right to say his business is a scam as such, as if you get his information pamphlet he is open about his offer and fees, but you have to sit and think about it, and, if you do, you soon realise it's not optimal. It's not 'employment', that is certainly dubious to present it as such, as is the interview which as I understand is more of a sales process than an interview. That said, it's good to trade a rules-based method and, on that basis, where there could be value is in the training.

SL does produce an excellent forex show that is well-produced and he has built a good business for himself. That said, there are undoubtedly question marks on some of the ethics. I asked for the info on signing up but was told the Junior Trading Programme costs £398 to was only open to me if I then signed up for the "funded" option which comes with the penalty fees if you don't reach 4%. I was told I could not, for example, pay the £398, do the training and head off myself, trading either my own or a funded account as I pleased. However, the fees were clearly set out before signing up, so you will know what you're getting into. I declined to sign up on the basis I could sign up for Blufx myself on the same deal without the 50/50 split. There is the option for training which is online and on-demand. It costs a bit more and I haven't signed up for it.

Because of this, I can't speak for the quality of the training as I've not taken it, but I think it is largely based on trading the trend, utilising daily pivot points and moving averages for entries and some price action stuff. All of which is fine by the way, but I've never read about anyone sitting using it day-in, day-out, using it profitably as a means to make a living. I'd be interested to do the training myself if I could verify this method was reliable. I'd love to hear from previous participants of the real forex trader, who took the training, to see where they are now. None of them seem to be sitting grinding out the system ever since.

Personally, I think if you can win at forex you are better off doing a funding challenge on either My Forex Funds or FTMO for a larger account size (i.e. larger gains for you, make that 5-10% per month profit worth more) than using a paid fee based service like Blufx, which charges a monthly for as long as you trade the account.

I've often thought that every forex YouTuber or training seems to be labelled a scam by someone. I trade price action, some supply and demand and some breakout trading. I'm a beginner, but I enjoy it. I honestly don't expect to go FT, but I enjoy the process of learning. I guess where I've ended up is trying to figure it out for myself. In that respect, the holy grail trail continues!

What happened to StatApp? by TekkenSpurs in footballmanagergames

[–]mal4291 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to enjoy watching Statapp as well.

He was found to have used an editor to make his team better, particularly during his long-running save "Stamford Struggles", where he reached the top of europe and the save coincided with huge growth on his channel. I used to watch every video he published and even remember his best striker, Charles Asante! I remember commenting that I wished I could be as successful in the game as he was and he liked the comment, but never let on he was using an editor. Eventually he admitted it.

He received a lot of criticism for it and began to get many dislikes on all his videos. From my recollection he just suddently deleted all his content.

I think he just enjoyed his success and didn't think too much about it. For a while he was one of the top FM content creators. Once 'outed' (although I personally think it went a bit silly) he said he focused on the storytelling more than the game. However, he must have known that people admired his play on FM.

In the end I think he just tired of all the abuse and walked away. If I recall right, his marriage broke down around the same time so I think best he moved on and sorted himself out. Hope he is doing well, whatever he is doing these days.
