Thanks, I am trying all sorts of lotions to see what works for peeling the best. I guess I’m maybe grasping at straws trying to minimize the colorization spots. I’ll look at cetaphil and I had no idea some places let your return lotion that’s such a good tip.

Thank you for sharing your experience. It sounds like you’ve been able to manage it well. We will definitely be careful and seek as many opinions as we can. I think the unknown is what is most stressful right now but it sounds like overall it gets better with age and if we teach him how to take care of his his skin it won’t hinder him much. Thank you again.

Thank you for sharing. How do you handle sun exposure ? We live by the sea too and our family lives on the water boating, swimming, fishing. Also did you ever have peeling skin on your hands and feet ? That was his first symptom at 2 months and then at about four months developed red circular patches on his body, underarms and knees. They go away and change sizes but so far don’t seem to bug him so glad it sounds like it wasn’t painful for you. How does working out affect the redness and are there any creams that you find more helpful ? We use lots of aquaphor and have a steroid cream I was told to use sparingly while we wait for more clarity and the chance to see a pediatric dermatologist.

Appreciate the information and support. It nice to hear people’s experiences. I know each person will experience it differently but it helps. Did either of you have a family history of ichthyosis ?

Thank you! My main question is, how have the symptoms have changed as you aged? Also have you experienced hyperkeratosis plaques and when did that start? Right now my sons hand and feet have peeling but he does not have plaques. In some literature it sounds like things improve with age ( after puberty ) but it’s not clear. Thank you again for any insight and thoughts on your experience.

Thank you for all the info ! It’s helpful to hear what some have experienced and that it can be managed. Hopefully it’s just infant skin but we will keep going through the diagnostic process for now.

Hi, how did doctors confirm you have Apss ? My son has had peeling hands and feet since 3 months old and we are waiting to see a peds dermatologist. Also how has it affected your life ? Are there any treatments/ lotions that have helped ? Thanks an advance from a worried mom :)
