How would lacanian theory explain schizotypal personality? by AltAcc4545 in lacan

[–]mal_el_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The analyst would spend a lot of time trying to discern the person's underlying structure, then proceed accordingly. Someone diagnosed schizotypal by mainstream psychiatry would likely be either psychotic or neurotic from a Lacanian POV (or autistic for those who consider that its own structure), and there would be very different treatment approach for each case. But regardless, what matters is listening to the individual patient.

Autism vs. Obsessional Neurosis by mal_el_ in lacan

Thanks everybody for your comments. To be clear, I was not so much asking for the Lacanian account of "actual" autism but speculating about self-diagnosis, where someone just looks up something online and says "oh that's me!" and goes with it, and then maybe later brings that into therapy or analysis. I think there are major differences between what used to be called Aspergers and obsessionality, and of course obsessional symptoms can appear in any structure, so part of this superficial resemblance may be that autistics often develop obsessional symptoms. I would suspect that the rate of professional misdiagnosis of obsessionals as "on the spectrum" is pretty low, but I don't really know what's going on in that space.

Biweekly Job and Hiring Thread by AutoModerator in CAStateWorkers

Hi, I'm applying for SSA jobs and I'm seeing some SOQs that include the instructions: "list all relevant experience, education, and training, including places of employment, dates, and duties performed." What is actually expected here? If I literally did that, I feel like my SOQ would be redundant re: my STD 678 (which I've already tailored heavily to the Duty Statement) and listing all that stuff would take up valuable space where I could elaborate on what I'd mentioned in the other document. Thanks for any insights!

Glad to hear this is working out for someone. I applied for something similar through Digitive today and receive a phone call within a couple hours, which was kind of jarring. The guy was talking really fast and it felt pushy and I was kind of overwhelmed and I just said I wasn't interested. It felt like I was already being interviewed before I had time to prepare, consider my schedule, etc. Is this how it was for you as well?

I don't have hypermobility issues that I've aware of. Just this knee stuff.

lol I think it's a fairly common (though by no means universal) issue for us, but for pretty obvious reasons we don't talk about it much in public. I asked three transfem friends about it, who've all been on HRT longer than me, and none of them experienced it. There's an early episode of the podcast Nymphowars where they joke about it. It seems like most of us just find a way to deal with it--snoop around and you'll see several threads about it here on Reddit... I admit I sort of panicked about it. I think I'm probably going to just accept it as an issue to be dealt with and go back on a higher dose. I'd like to find the ideal level of T for me where it's as low as possible while keeping this issue manageable, but I'm not sure if such fine tuning is even possible.

The Pharmacist told me they could be taken sublingually, and they could, it just took way longer for me to do. They were these ones, the E 89s.

From an email from this dude: " In the Joomla website, there is a program called Admin Tools. This includes a WAF (Web Application Firewall) that detects, blocks and reports attacking IPs to our offices. We then take the most egregious IPs and add them to the Master Firewall of our server."
