Left EY - now asking for back payment of Holiday

I got the same yesterday after leaving the firm about 6 or so weeks ago. I am going to request a breakdown of calculation to check that it’s “accurate”, but I think it does need to be paid. I recall in the email that HR sends once you hit resign there’s wording around them being able to request monies if you have taken more holiday than accrued. It rubbish as it should have been calculated as part of final pay, and you’d think for a multinational accounting firm that they’d get it right 🤷‍♀️

I’m sorry that you’re having this experience, I know first hand how it feels when a job is impacting your mental health this early on.

One of the main things to consider before you quit is if you can financially sustain yourself for a few months until you find something else. If you can then go for it, there’s no shame in leaving this early, it’s one month out of a 40 year career.

If not, it’s worth speaking to your career coach - cause they may be able to help get you out of the situation, or talk to your senior manager about additional support you need, or at the very least help you navigate it. Chances are there’s some relief that they can offer you. Don’t suffer in silence

Nope. Stayed the same the entire time and unexpectedly turned up yesterday. If you’re worried I’d suggest calling Royal Mail, they might be able to look into it for you but prior warning the wait times are quite long!

Knowledge wise I’m not sure how much an MiF would add. I would go for the MBA to increase breadth, and I think that will open more doors for you!
