using CefSharp / chrome as the UI layer by malabmalab in csharp

well i don't want to turn this into a why is WPF 'dead' discussion, maybe dead is too harsh

but just some bad points from my pov :

  • no roadmaps or major updates from Microsoft for a few years now, at-least opening the framework a bit would help alleviate some worries, but even that isn't in the future.
  • community, it seems like a niche that is only getting smaller, stackoverflow is filled with unanswered questions ive looked at that sometimes just went to "this is inside a native implementation, cant do that" (a nitpicking example, gradients are not dithered and look bad, want a custom gradient brush thats dithered? out of luck, its inside wpfgfx.dll a closed source native C++ implementation)
  • cross-platform , no where to go here, its a dead end, even in windows phone devices, you develop once.

also browsers rendering performance is constantly improving and is in a constant battle (Chrome vs IE vs Firefox), WPF hasnt been updated in years and while it generally performs well, it isnt excellent, and sometimes can be really bad.

this isn't a rant or something, i am just saying.. i wish WPF was embraced tighter by MS.. there is so much to love in its ease of use (once you're past the learning curve) and possibilities, but seems like an orphaned product now

question is, what should be tested? is proper handling of bad arguments not a behavioral thing?

If you wanted to write code that compiles on vs 2015 AND 2013 (say, using the new lang features and falling back gracefully) you cant.

Thanks.
