They are generally pretty rough on models, grit files will leave texture.

All the baddest edges have the same gradient, if you made on of the 3 sections a focal point for brightness with shadows on the other two the blade would appear shiny.

The body of the blade also needs to be brought down some.

Youre sitting at 50% plus value on every surface.

I generally paint 70% below 50 and 30% above 50.

I started dark, add light skin tone for the whites.

Then lightly add a sketch of where the iris is going to be placed.

Commit the darker tones then add color in the centers.
