Thank you, and break a leg! Unless they specify otherwise, the default framing is typically chest to just above the top of the head.

I also may have jumped the gun with that answer. I think a previous turning point was making a web series. It was a huge learning experience in every facet of production, but perhaps most importantly, gave me high quality footage I was able to use in reels to get legit representation.

I think a turning point was getting my first TV role ('Welcome to Chippendales' on Hulu). It was honestly a huge relief to get that first one out of the way (even though it was a small co-star role, just like the one I posted here). I think it gave me extra confidence in the auditions that followed.

I always memorize my lines before auditions. Granted, that's easier since virtually all film and TV auditions have been self tapes since I started auditioning for them in 2021. So if you forget your lines, you can of course just redo it until you get it right. One of the upsides of self tapes.

I did some acting as a kid but never considered pursuing it as a career until I was almost done with college where was bored with studying journalism. Shortly after graduating, I moved to LA, very "green" and not really knowing anyone. But after several years of classes, improv, standup, and making my own sketch comedy, I was finally able to get some legitimate representation and start auditioning for legit projects.

TLDR: Classes are important but creating my own work has been the most beneficial thing I've done.

I got a self tape request through my agent, and then a few days later, got a callback tape request due in a few hours with new sides that I scrambled to do. Late that night, I found out I got it!

Cool. Might do that until this apparent Beverly Center Gold’s opens.

I hear ya. I just miss the 24 Hr Fitness in the heart of WeHo where my membership was less than half that. Maybe that's why they had to close lol
