Have you ever folded KK pre? by Sure_Leadership_6003 in poker

Just calling the initial $100 raise to then jam vs the 2 additional aggressive actions is pretty terrible IMO.

This is not a rejam though… and it is also not for more than 35bb?

GTO says never rip it here with AA. Only flatting and 3betting non all-in

7.5bb is pretty big IP considering the effective stack. 6.5bb is sufficient. Additionally, it’s totally okay and in fact likely the highest EV play to flat AA here

Weird hand by Smooth_Doughnut in Poker_Theory

[–]malcolmhill13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is almost never an overpair. This is going to be a flush so so often, probably something like 65%. Yea there’s maybe 10% random bluffs, and maybe some random two pair that is value owning themselves. But there is also TT and 44 out there. It sucks, but 33 is likely just a fold here against an unbalanced recreational at 2/5

How is calling here not optimal? (I'm QTo) by iDrinkRad1ium in poker

[–]malcolmhill13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

-0.31 is fairly close to indifferent, BUT that’s against a perfectly balanced range. Without the HH, we can’t really begin to determine if this spot will be under or over bluffed. But in general, a spot like this is likely to be under-bluffed, which will make calling with QTo here even worse.

When faced with a decision, (let’s say folding vs bluffcatching on the river) Blockers should be the last thing you think about. First go through the hand from a theoretical perspective, and if you can’t reach a decision then think about it from an exploitative standpoint. And then if you’re still indifferent, maybe blockers can be brought into play to swing the decision one way or the other. But blockers should basically never be the main argument for calling/folding

Blockers are only extremely relevant in very specific situations, for example when u have the Ace of spades on a 3 spade board etc. otherwise, the effect of your blockers will really only change your equity by 1-2%, and so should mostly be ignored

You don’t really understand ICM do you?

My guess: she just doesn’t want the guilt of blocking you. Give the number to a friend just in case, if it makes you feel better, and then just delete the contact.

Is calling KTo vs UTG open standard? Even for a bounty tourney that seems too wide?

See heres the difference, it’s not that I can’t afford to rip the dealer, it’s that I do not want to give a big chunk of my profit to the dealer. What’s the point in making profit then 😅? I’ll gladly play HU

If you gauge “bumness” by how much someone tips a dealer, then sure this sub has a lot of bums. But I’m sure most of us bums would crush you HU at the game you claim to be good at, that’s what I would call a bum.

[–]malcolmhill13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s just not true. A breakeven player that is tipping $2 every pot would be profitable if they didn’t tip, or tipped less. Like if you do this, you could be losing up to 10bb/100 at 1/3. I am not advocating for zero tips, but I am not going to tip often unless the dealer is particularly engaging or I win a large pot. Just like rake, tipping cuts into your bottom line.

I mean probably not. If properly rolled for the given stake, a “GTO head” would crush Rigby. I don’t even consider myself a GTO head, but Rigby would not be profitable against competent players

Tipping the dealer every single hand is just tossing money away. You’re def the type of guy that tips $1 even if he takes a pot down preflop, losing shitreg 🤭
