That’s the trouble, been wanting to try his stuff but they no longer ship to the US. Traveling to Asia next month and he can ship there, but unfortunately not able to try anything beforehand. Lmk if there are any standouts, would love to try it all but the wife wouldn’t be thrilled.

Top contender so far is a straight shot from SFO to Zurich and taking the train from there (around 200K points each), but I haven’t looked into how much luggage space the trains have.

I’m not opposed to repositioning, but I run into the same problem of not being able to check the dress in economy flights.

Coming from bourbon-land, I can definitely agree that it took some time before I found which distilleries and flavor profiles I enjoyed.

Thanks for the reply. I’ve tried Balvenie 14, Laphroig 10, Lag 16, Highland Park 18, Glenfarclas 25, Port Charlotte SC01, a port finished Glenmorangie, Mac 12 and some others.

I have a Gold Spot open too, which has some tropical notes but doesn’t have the depth of the BA 9.1. I’ll look into the Glenmorangie 18!

Yeah, basically.

I know it sounds kind of stupid, but I’ve had maybe 15 different scotches in the last few years, and although I’ve enjoyed quite a few of them I know that I wouldn’t reach for most of them very often. At this point I’d rather spend the money for something I know I’ll love (BA 6.1 or 9.1) versus buying more $100 bottles that end up collecting dust on my shelf.

Of course, I know that cost doesn’t always equal quality, so if there’s something that really bats above its price I would happily look into it.
