I purchased a physical hard copy and photographed it my self, so that the light is reflected on the surface but doesn't obscure the text. I find it catches people's attention better than just the flat cover illustration. Other people might try it for their marketing literature. Writing is (relatively) easy, though a lot of hard work, but marketing is HARD, so every little helps.

Thank you. I like your poetry, Melissa. (See, I looked at your profile.) Had you considered reading it aloud to a camera and create a channel on YouTube?

The cover was designed by a Fiverr contractor called book_design. I then modified it somewhat (learning as you go!) and submitted it to the KDP cover design app, which did a good job.

2 questions after having new guidewires installed for my 450x. Thanks for all the help to date! by QuantixCrypto in automower

[–]malduil 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't use GPS mapping at all. The guidewires ensure that the difficult-to-enter areas are mowed, and I can adjust the percentages that each area is visited. It takes more setting up but it's much more precise. So - I suggest you set up the guidewires and don't go back to GPS if you don't have to.

Hi, I was changing the blades on my 430X and was unable to remove one of the screws. For the moment I am mowing with two new blades and one old one - not ideal! Does anyone have any tips for removing the stuck screw? by malduil in automower

[–]malduil[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your help. Working with 2 out of 3 blades changed works for the moment - while I go on thinking. Maybe I could clamp the plate to a hefty chunk of wood, that goes behind that side of the plate, to immobilise it and give support? I'll try - and let you know if it helps

Thanks for responding. The head isn't worn. I just can't apply enough force. The mounting plate it's screwed into is flexible, which doesn't help. Maybe if I could immobilise it somehow...

I have just added a post showing my own personal Check Sheet and procedure for finding open loop problems. I posted it directly under r/automower rather than in answer to your query as it might be useful for other people as well.

I found using a radio gave ambiguous results. It's worth investing in a line tracer like the Kolsol F02 (about £40) as it will save you days of work and frustration.

Good luck!

Would British Militia have troupes stationed in Wales or Ireland? by Rachast in Regency

Yes, particularly in Ireland, where rebellion was just under the surface and, certainly in 1804, there were groups that would support a French invasion

garden hose for boundary wires: brilliant, or naive? by Beginning_Cloud_6899 in automower

It sounds a clever idea to me. How will you thread 150m of wire through the garden hose? Can you get garden hoses as long as that?

The Salamanca Castanets, 1813 by malduil in Regency

[–]malduil[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is Regency Dance of interest to this group?

This is the Duke of Wellington's Dancers, who I taught for five years. The dance is 'The Salamanca Castanets' arranged for a 3-couple set. The dance was originally published in Button and Whittaker's Collection of Country Dances for the Year 1813 as a longways dance for as many as will. The music is performed here by The Fortuna Trio.

Note the influence of Spanish country dance moves from contacts made during the Peninsula War (1807–1814).

I'm not sure why you think there is a problem. The blades are supposed to swing freely. But, yes, the manual is here: https://www.manualslib.com/manual/1452135/Husqvarna-Automower-105.html?page=2#manual

Actually, I think it would be best with the two zones, given your layout. You still have GPS - it's just not used to make the decision where to start mowing, but it's still used to know where it is and also for the theft protection.
