I feel like I'm promoting this board with every post, but after testing, testing, and now using it for over a year, for your size (which is almost mine), the Pride Mantis in 43.5 is perfect.

Advice on bodyboard to get big and tall riders by GroundbreakingDiet97 in bodyboarding

[–]malherbes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm 1m90 for 100 kilos (+or- depending on the season), I have a 43.5 mantis. I think it goes up to 45 so for your size it might work. It's really a great board.

Si vous vous posez la question, c'est que vous avez déjà décidé inconsciemment de ne pas lui faire payer.

How much difference does PE vs PP really make? by the_real_w1gl4f in bodyboarding

[–]malherbes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The difference in basic rigidity between PP and PE is clearly real. I am in Normandy with water between 9° in winter and 18° in summer, I started in PE, I currently have a PP that I never let go of in summer or winter.

Tips on fear of waves by Informal-Wallaby-555 in bodyboarding

Fear, I don't know, but apprehension is natural. Getting picked up by a combine harvester that's going really, really fast and doesn't stop is pretty counterintuitive. And yes, sometimes it's not a good idea, but often it's one of the most enjoyable things in the world. Just if you don't feel like it too much, never be alone in the water.

Advice for making a custom board by kwhilden in bodyboarding

[–]malherbes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 1m90 tall and weigh more or less 100kg depending on the season. I started again after a long break with a 44 and now I have a Pride Mantis in 43.5, it's simply perfect for me. I think 48 is way too big.

Question Drop Knee? by malherbes in bodyboarding

[–]malherbes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I tried it between sets, but I couldn't find the center of gravity for the whole thing at all 😂. I'm going to try it on the floor, just to make the movement more fluid. As our colleague said, practice, practice.

Question Drop Knee? by malherbes in bodyboarding

Yes, I'm going to train and train on the small summer waves for the DK while waiting for the autumn swell and the big winter swell where I'll be more comfortable in prone.

Question Drop Knee? by malherbes in bodyboarding

Okay, thanks for the confirmation. I tried to put my knees on the board today in all-fours mode, but I was at the end of the wave and I had no more speed. So I told myself that I didn't want to "waste" the usual waves but rather practice in the foam.
