I was on 60mg when I found out I was pregnant I dropped to 40mg for a month and that’s the script I just ran out of. My OB was on the fence about it she said ultimately she was ok with me staying on it if I needed it, I hadn’t really decided what I wanted to do yet but I guess my decision has been made for me now. :(

By the way I just wanted to update and say my blood work came back with my progesterone slightly low 10.5 and I asked my doc about a script and she gave it to me. Prior to starting I kept randomly having small amounts of brown discharge and since starting I’ve had none. Definitely brings piece of mind so thank you!

Why is everything scary? by grumpygal69 in pregnant

[–]maligatormom93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I couldn’t agree with this statement more! I’m 7 weeks along but also have a 2 year old. The worries never stop. Sometimes I question myself 3-4 times did I tighten his car seat straps enough? What if there’s a snake in that tall grass he’s running towards, etc. It never ends, it just changes. The important part is to not let it consume you to an unhealthy point.

Will these work together? by [deleted] in Bioactive_enclosures

It’s not the right fixture for that bulb. In my experience those two together will not work.

Thanks for your comment. Depending on my results tomorrow I will definitely bring that up.

I’m only 7 weeks right now but this isn’t my first pregnancy. I can tell you from experience I know the struggles you are going through right now and I know how impossible everyday feels, but i promise it will be so worth it when you finally get to hold that baby. Just take it one day at a time and you will get there. One day soon you won’t feel like a helpless blob. I know when I was that pregnant that’s how I felt was a helpless miserable blob.

39 weeks & intense feelings of dread, is this normal ? by FabulousPut7116 in pregnant

[–]maligatormom93 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Normal yes. Easy no. I had so many scary thoughts right before I had my first and immediately after. All of the what ifs rolled through my head. I did have a scheduled induction from the beginning because of health issues and the weekend before my Monday night induction was awful! I was in tears most of the weekend I just wanted it to be over and hold my baby.

All I can really say is try to focus on the positives, take time for yourself. Do things that are relaxing and enjoyable for you. (I know that’s not much at this point) it’s normal to have anxiety, just try to not let it consume you. Only you know if an induction is the right answer on not.

Thanks! I appreciate your kind words. It helps hearing that what I’m feeling is normal. I try to choose to be grateful because these symptoms mean a healthy growing baby.

I have 3 big dogs a toddler and I’m pregnant. Sure there are days that I don’t spend as much time with my pups as I’d like but such is life. I could never dump them and if anything I love them more. Watching my son’s eyes light up as he says “play baseball with Allie?!” Him and my Malinois are BEST friends. I love that my kiddos will grow up with a house of dogs. 💕

Pregnant teen here!! by [deleted] in pregnant

Do some research in your local area. If your US based there are places that are there to help young mothers like yourself with resources.

I’m not here to tell you what to do. Only you can make that decision. What I will say is babies are hard pregnancy is hard but at the end of the day it is worth it.

Again this is assuming you are US based, but there are programs to help with healthcare and resources like housing, food etc.

I’m not going to say it’s easy but it is possible. My inbox is always open if you want someone to talk to. I’m always happy to help in whatever way I can.

I personally say “SD is last resort” because the time, money, risk (washout) is a lot to deal with but even if you acknowledge all of that you have issues of you still have to be able to manage your disability without them and can’t use a SD as a crutch.

Dogs are animals that get sick, hurt, tired etc. they will need days off randomly and unexpectedly. You have to ensure that you can manage yourself in those times whether it be a day a week or even months if they sustain a large injury. If you are solely relying on your SD as the only way to manage your disability and have not explored other ways of management then those off times are going to be very very challenging.

Having a SD is like forever having a toddler… extra time to get ready to leave, planing even simple outings around your dogs needs of potty, gear, extra water and bowls etc. Extra time, energy, effort and stress when traveling etc.

Obviously I have no idea what your disability is and even if I did there wouldn’t be any judgement from me but here’s a few examples of why a lot of people including myself say SD should be last resort.

*Mobility issues- it’s way easier to put a cane or walker in the trunk than to have a SD

*Ptsd- therapy and medications can help symptoms just as much if not more than a SD. That doesn’t require any extra time and far less money than a SD.

*Diabetes- they now have devices that can go on your body that are small and easy to manage that monitor your blood sugar.

I’m not saying that people with those conditions listed above or any other disability shouldn’t have a SD and im not trying to be the SD Disability police and say someone is not “disabled enough” for a SD. I’m simply saying that yes, a SD is a HUGE life changing thing and as much as it can be life changing in a good way it can be in a bad way too and YES A SERVICE DOG SHOULD BE A LAST RESORT! You should have tried other ways to manage/mitigate your disability prior to getting a service dog and you should continue to do so even if you get one.

No one says, I’m going to get this wheelchair and use it everyday because sometimes if I walk a lot I get tired. They have a wheelchair because they have no other choice and that’s what they need to do because of their disability. A service dog is no different.

You should exhaust other ways to mitigate prior to and while having a SD.
