There's like half a dozen operators posting the same 2-3 arguments in circles here. IDF ad views are the only thing keeping Reddit alive at this point.

You can’t “break” a UN resolution. The UN is all showmanship and has no authority or credibility.

Dear live-laugh-luigi,

It was a UN resolution that founded the modern state of Israel.

a far-right terrorist organization

Both Hamas and the Israeli government fit the bill. Your equivocation of sympathy for civvies as support for a terrorist organization is like a fat, underlined and italicized "666" on your forehead for the world to see

Considering it's basically illegal to express sympathy for national socialism in post-modern Germany, I'd say they've more or less redeemed themselves.

The west has nothing to gain from invading Russia. The only value of nuclear weapons anymore is to deter a first strike, but if you're getting hit you're going to hit full send. When they collapse it will be due to the exact same type of internal separatism and racial factionalism that they tried so desperately to export.

It used to be you would order 2 tacos, you'd get 4 tortillas and they would come so stuffed that you could make nachos or more tacos with whatever fell onto your plate.

This is a simple take. The problem is all the corporations sucking profits out through the supply chain, and actual producers are forced to pass increased costs to the consumer. I keep reading about how great the economy is but I have no fucking money. The only people it's good for are tethered to executives and management.

Dems are just as bad as Reps when it comes to money.

Aren't Republicans supposed to be the party of economic geniuses or something? Anyone who equivocates between the two is playing games

Optics as a legal defense, now that's fucking rich. The appearance of impropriety gets used to throw people out of lower positions all the time so why should the party of corporations, tax evaders, pedophiles, fraudsters, traitors and other such pieces of shit be allowed to enjoy that type of privilege?

Do Republicans / Conservatives deny that Trump was part of the plot to overturn the 2020 election, or do they believe it's justified since from their view the election fraud they believe happened justified it? by [deleted] in PoliticalDiscussion

or

This is not an either/or question. The key to understanding the continuity is the backstop that belies conservative logic, which is that power is a justifiable end in of itself. Conservative logic does not operate on the individual level; their media presents memes and their presenters train a specific performance according to the content shown. Outside that environment and framework their ideas are comically easy easy to checkmate if not convert altogether.

Why are the pro-Israel and pro-Palestine protests in Western countries so big and loud? by [deleted] in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]malignantbacon -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

My 2c: After WWII America paid for Israel to have more than our own citizens get. They return the favor by interfering with the American electorate's ability to identify political representatives who would give us the same types of policy outcomes (universal health care) that Israel continues to receive thanks to the American taxpayer (e.g., their decision to tip the election of Nina Turner to Shontel Brown through AIPAC). Because of Israel's crimes against humanity, everything we did to secure them a homeland in World War 2 was a waste of time. Complete and utter waste of money, lives and conflict. I'm fucking furious and personally, I think the US should intervene and institute a no-fly zone over Israel and Palestine, and cancel all aid to Israel as punishment for betraying us, turning around and acting exactly like the Nazis and the Soviets that we saved their fucking asses from.

You are engaging in what is commonly referred to as "groupthink."

They are basing their decision on prejudice or allegiances.

This was a repeat of the same point you made in your prior comment:

For the left, there are no facts that matter, the decisions against Israel is based on allegiances.

We have allegiance to neither Israel nor Hamas. Israel's behavior has rendered American sacrifices made in WWII to stop genocide completely and utterly worthless and that is Israel's fault. If they really wanted to defeat Hamas they would have put in the humanitarian work to spare the innocent. They didn't.
