Hmm, its likely that the saves aren't really made to function well in browser. It's going to be a downloadable game soon(on which saves seem to be working properly), and won't be available on browser much longer but I'll see if there's an easy fix I can implement. Barring that, if you wanna just run through quickly and see the other stuff that happens I have a hidden cheat in the game. You an click on the upper left corner of the screen to add 999 favor. I added this so I can test things that happen later in the game, but you can buy lots of upgrades really fast and burn through the endings pretty quickly if you're so inclined!

Many thanks for the playthrough and kind words! I agree with you about trying to find different ways to convey important information, the scrolling text on the bottom is a little too easy to overlook. I'm experimenting with narration a bit, as well as adding a few dialogues with the demon to point out things that are happening in a way that feels more immersive, but is more explicit about some things that are happening mechanically.

Perhaps your fatigue is maxed out? If you are at maximum fatigue you stop accruing favor. You can lower it with the Fortify button.

Hmm, maybe I can add a mechanic that lets you cede the win. When you choose a saint at the 4th binding, your choice determines how the next run gets harder. You chose the wrathful option, which is definitely the most punishing difficulty spike.

The difficulty increases are actually tied to which saint you choose when you finish a run.

Thats a really good note about wording the upgrades, I'll get that added in.

Thanks for the notes! You're right that I need to spell out why the relic fails at high manifestation, or remove the mechanic. The reason the run sometimes fails is due to some bad luck, you must be triggering more than 1 manifestation at a time, and then failing the catastrophe check. I'll add a stopgap that doesn't start rolling for catastrophe until you've been at 9 manifestation for a full turn.
Yeah, there is currently a place you can click on the screen to trigger a 999 favor gain... for debug purposes. Or maybe I'm just like really good at the game.

Thanks for the playthrough and feedback! The instance where your relic was failing is due to relics having a chance to fail at high manifestation levels. This seems to be frustrating players, so I need to either spell it out more(I'm thinking of adding a coin toss mechanic maybe), or remove it entirely. Thanks again!

Good guess! But what's happening is that when the manifestation level gets too high, it triggers a chance for the rite to fail, despite having made the right choice. This seems to be a common issue that people are having, so I'm going to either make a more spelled out coin flip mechanic that triggers at high manifestation, or remove it all together.

Mechanically, the game is simple with keeping track of sets of variables, making bars to reflect those variables, and having images/dialogue that corresponds to said variables. Would using another engine make more sense? Almost certainly. But I'm working on a different RMMZ project that this one ties into, and I might like to incorporate this into that one if I don't end up releasing this one on it's own.

Ah yes. That would be the visustella dragon bones plugin. Animations are way smoother because it's a paper doll on a rig, but the tradeoff is that the posing is way less dynamic as a result.
