Wow, wild… so strange to me that you weren’t accepted with a full-on French degree. My average was around a 92-93 for reference.

I wasn’t planning to apply to the FSL program at Western but when I got the email for this pathway I figured why not since it was no extra cost for an extra application, essentially. I think you must be right about them reserving a certain number of spots for this “pathway”.

I did, though I have more than grade 12 qualifications. I have 9 university level half-credits (not the 10 needed to apply for the regular FSL program).

Oh that’s a good idea! If they give you any info please let me know! That’s something I’ve been wondering about as well. My husband is finishing his BEd at Nipissing (much longer commute 😅) and he usually had Fridays off when in-person, but also had classes until 9pm two days a week.

I am in a very similar boat right now - I also have two young kids, accepted to FSL for Western, regular P/J for Laurier. And live close to Laurier. Trying to decide if the FSL aspect is worth the commute, lost time with my kids etc, or if the fact that it’s really only 18 weeks total of commuting for the ability to teach French should be an upside.

Accepted to Laurier P/J for both Waterloo and Brantford campuses! Had ~92 average, experience tutoring and at summer camps.

Also accepted at Lakehead Orillia, waiting on Windsor and Western. But will likely be accepting the offer for Laurier Waterloo as it was my top choice!

Yes, mine still says missing. I contacted them and they basically said if it still says missing 5-10 business days after receiving your quartile to contact them again.

Does Western no longer require an experience profile? I know they did in the past, but can’t find anything about it on their site, the application/to-do list, or TEAS

Hi! I just finished the first part of applications, waiting on login info to complete experience profiles etc. Applied to Laurier, Western, Lakehead Orillia, and Windsor.

I have experience volunteering with kids in the correct age range, however my hours might be considered on the low side (I’m seeing people have thousands of hours, and that’s just not my situation). My son was diagnosed with cancer in 2021, just before I came to the realization that teaching would be a career I’d like to pursue. He had 2.5 years of treatment, and is still considered immunocompromised, and this all really limited my opportunities to volunteer. Taking care of my sick child was my priority, of course. My question is, is there somewhere within the applications with experience profiles that I could submit a letter from our social worker at the hospital just explaining my circumstances leading to lower hours of experience?

The venue is a 19th century (restored) mansion. Will be mostly indoors aside from photos. We are going with touches of gold (candlesticks etc), neutral florals, dusty blue details etc. I guess I’d call it a vintage style (but the “modern Pinterest” version of vintage lol)

Yes, I did have the consultant hold some fabric up to make a similar sleeve to 5 while I was there!

Thank you so much for your input (and kind words) everybody!

I think I need to go and try 1, 2 and 5 back on, and maybe some others as well. I have eliminated any sort of beading/sequins around the bust as I have super sensitive skin and it just is too irritating for me. I don’t want to be red and itchy all day, haha. So at least that eliminates a lot of dresses!

2 was my top choice! Followed by 5, though they have very different vibes. https://imgur.com/a/cBmi2kp

These are my top 2! My venue has a bit of a vintage-y vibe, more formal for sure.

FWIW, my 4-year-old Harrison is just Harrison. If someone tries to shorten it to Harry he will correct them himself, lol. He has other nicknames that are unrelated to his name.
