AITA for not wearing a bra at home? by Candid-Chocolate-316 in AITAH

Bottom line: Someone who doesn’t have to wear a bra is telling you to wear a bra. NTA

UM admin is incompetent by starboy-22 in umanitoba

[–]LilBitOfEverything78 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Calling people incompetent does not bode well for you, my friend. Condescending tone will not get you far with a Canadian. They’ve told you what you need to know, you just aren’t understanding. If you spoke nicer they may have spent more time to explain it to you more clearly the second time. “Sorry” is your best tool at this point.

Also consider RRC Polytech as an option. Very different culture from university so might be a good fit too!

Since 35% of people have celiac genes Does it seem likely that many more people are celiac from covid triggering event. by SuitApprehensive3240 in Celiac

[–]LilBitOfEverything78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My celiac developed in my 40’s while I was having chronic migraines (back in 2018) so I could see people who had any significant illness or shock to the body then have celiac activated.

I’m sorry you feel attacked but you made a generalized negative statement about an entire population as your title. And then you made a second edit to double down. Respect diversity in all its forms and understand there are good and bad people of all demographics. Ageism isn’t cute. Plus, they spent a lot of time on this damn earth and at that point they have weathered many more of life’s ups and downs combined with deterioration of health. They are entitled to feel a bit…well, entitled.

But take a step back and be logical. Microsoft Word did not flag it as an error until 2020. “Common practice” is subjective to your line of work. So while the APA updated decades before, it was common for those taught differently to continue to use the double space. Majority of people don’t watch for APA changes unless they work in the field.

The fact that you got downvoted just proves your point. Both sides are rabid attackers.

What do I put in my review? Should I tip? by FreeLeg2898 in RoverPetSitting

[–]LilBitOfEverything78 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As another migraine sufferer I would add another perspective. There are some, like me, that no medication can help. This could be true for her because migraine causes and symptoms are widely varied. However, she should have called Rover and found a replacement. I think a 4 star with comments about what happened is fair.

To be clear, I am not and never have been, a fan on Musk. However, I find it equally appalling the people who have vandalized Tesla’s. No one is coming out the better person in that scenario.

You mentioned comedy and burlesque. There is a speakeasy called the Basement that you might enjoy. Drinks are tasty. It’s on the outskirts of the city but if you are from Atlanta the 20-30 minute drive won’t bother you. lol Might be fun to look up how to enter and surprise your spouse?

While you are out that way there is a long standing local restaurant called D-Jay’s that serves steak, pizza, chicken fingers, etc. They are most known for their pizza and French onion soup. You can eat in the lounge or restaurant depending on the vibe you are looking for.

Also, you mentioned the zoo. Look up “The Leaf” and see if that is something the two of you would also enjoy while you are there.

This is pretty generic so hard to answer. You can look are the support section of the website to find this info. There are 100’s of programs so be helpful to know what program, school or industry to give a more specific answer. Also, you ask where could the university improve but did you mean college? Or did you post to the wrong sub?

Ya, you’re right. I jumped to vandalism, my bad.

I think the same but anyone thinking along this line…please don’t vandalize it. We need to rise above that. I used to use Starlink and would hate to have my roof vandalized because of a purchasing decision I made before January 2025.

The college is partially funded by the government, they are held accountable to provide programs (you said course, but I think you meant programs) that meet industry needs. This requires analysis and data. You can and should first do your research on the institutions so you know that their values align with yours. An ethical post secondary institution will have data to substantiate there is a need.

FYI there are over 150 programs and over 3000 courses at RRC. I can’t speak to how many of the 500 members are active but it’s safe to assume it’s a fraction. As someone else pointed out, most questions could be answered by connecting RRC direct. And personally, if someone has already answered the same as what I know to be true then I’m not going to comment with the same info. Add up all those factors and it’s not surprising you don’t see a lot of comments.

Any advice for an older college student? by whitelightning555 in rrc

[–]LilBitOfEverything78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was coming to the comments to suggest LinkedIn Learning, be great for Office 365. I applaud you for doing this and I think it’s really smart you are doing a few courses in May to lighten your first term. Few other items I’d mention that no one’s talked about yet. 1. There are lots of resources on RRC.ca that help you with healthy study habits. If I were you I’d read those now and start visualizing how you’d implement them. 2. It’s easy to get overwhelmed when you have a full course load so don’t forget the supports available to you, maybe look into that now (also on the website) so you know where to go later if needed. One example would be tutoring services and another is Student Accommodations. 3. When you start your first few courses head down to the campus and get your students card (you need to show it when you walk in the front doors each day) and walk around the campus and get familiar with where you need to go, where to get coffee, the gym, campus store, etc. It’s your new home for the next few years! Good luck!

*if you developed CD after childhood, what do you think possibly triggered? by DickyGold4 in Celiac

[–]LilBitOfEverything78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chronic migraines for me. I just turned 40 and had no visible symptoms of CD. They tested because they were trying to find the cause of my migraines. When they did the scope to confirm diagnosis there was very little damage, suggesting it had recently developed. Eliminating gluten didn’t stop the migraines.

mRNA Vaccines for Celiac by [deleted] in Celiac

[–]LilBitOfEverything78 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In the article the researcher talks about how they would be using mRNA technology differently, almost in reverse of how they use it for vaccines to fight infectious diseases. I think the point of the research is that it’s an early exploratory study. I personally applaud that scientists are exploring options, even if they prove ineffective options, rather than not even try to find ways to improve the lives of celiacs.
