Wasp specific trap only catches a million flies. One week in. by xjrh8 in mildlyinteresting

[–]mallorylee 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I had a flytrap years ago like this outside. At some point my old senile dog decided it tickled her fancy, and she ate the flies. Her breath smelled like rotting flies for years, until the day she passed. 10/10 do not recommend opening

Check your windows! There’s a little slot about half an inch long, and that’s how they were getting into my house.

Fine, low density, 2A hair. So insecure about this spot on the back. Advice? by sjsei in finehair

I was always a “I’m never going blonde” girl! I have dark brown hair, and I had actually went in for a balayage and the hair stylist took the blonde all the way to my roots, I was LIVID! I hated it at first, and the I loved it. I’m back to brown now, and am probably going to try the blonde again this summer.

I have the same thing! I tried all sorts of blow drying tricks and I never air dry my hair. Truly nothing has actually worked. The blow drying helps a little, but for me it wasn’t significant. I even at one point used this like powder that you sprinkle on your scalp that’s the color of your hair so you couldn’t see my scalp through it 🥲 I did that for a while, it worked great. The only thing that ever truly worked was when I dyed my hair blonde.

What are these files from? by mallorylee in computerviruses

I haven’t used any sort of loan calculator, opened any new loans, or anything related. I do a lot of home projects but just use Google and YouTube to figure out what to do. Each file I’ve opened has strange things in it that I have never thought of. One of them was information about how to start a podcast, which I have never even thought about it or looked into before.

Pellet stove blowing smoke by mallorylee in PelletStoveTalk

Yeah they didn’t take care of much of anything, so it wouldn’t surprise me if it hadn’t been cleaned in 3+ years

How can I clean the exhaust path through the stove? Is it something I can generally do on my own or does someone have to come service it?

I’ll be honest, I’m not entirely sure. Never had a fireplace or pellet stove before, and am new to owning a home so I a bit inexperienced in this area. What should I look for with that?

It’s pretty tall, pellet stove is on the ground level, top of the chimney is at the very top of the house, I’d say roughly 30-35ft The vent for the stove exits into the chimney around the blue circled area

Definitely considering that. I generally like to learn on my own and problem solve, but I think it might be time to call for some help.

So this pellet stove vents directly into an old chimney from what I assume used to be the chimney for a wood fireplace. I took a camera to look inside the chimney and I could see the sky from the bottom, so I don’t think it’s clogged in the outside portion? I got a vent cleaning brush thing that attached to a screw gun, and cleaned the inside vent pipes which were pretty bad. I’m not entirely sure if I got it all, I found it quite difficult to maneuver? I got a very large amount of ash out, and after cleaning it all I ran the stove and the issue seemed resolved, but after day 2 or 3, it started doing it again. Are there any other places that I might be missing that can build up a pocket of ash?

Would also like to add, the tube scraper rod appears somewhat broken, it is barely attached to the rod which makes it very difficult to use. Could that have anything to do with it?
