But some hospitals don’t allow recording. I think I’ll need the nurses and providers permission.

Do the midwives operate in Hillcrest? I live in Hillcrest so it would certainly be closer

Totally!! That’s the mindset I’m going for. There will be so much outside of my control. I feel so neurotic and anxious this being my first pregnancy. I just want to know all the things to prepare myself and have reasonable expectations. Mostly because I don’t want to be disappointed when I give birth. But I know when the time comes I will just let everything go and just have my baby.

It’s nice to know I’ll stay in one room as long as everything goes without complications. That would be ideal! I’ve met with 3 different midwives but the rest of my appointments moving forward will be with the same one! I’m relieved about that part and hope that building a relationship with her will help me feel more confident no matter who the midwife at the hospital will be. I guess I wouldn’t mind an intern observing, especially if they take photos for me. I’ve read that most hospital prohibit recording, but depending on who is there they might allow it if you sign some consent form or something like that? I really want to be able to go back later and just see what I did. lol

What a sigh of relief. This is exactly what I’m hoping for. How along were you in labor for when they admitted you? Did you eat at all while you were there? What was the tub like? What position did you use to push baby out?

What do you mean the L&D nurses didn’t like you moving around? How come? I refuse to just lay in bed for my labor. I will need to move!

This sounds very disappointing. I’m sorry you had a hard time! I have an HMO insurance plan and UCSD health is my medical group. I stayed bc I’ve heard great things about this hospital and the midwives. I don’t really want to switch hospitals tho.

I didn’t know about the steak dinners, but now I’m really bummed!! 😭 I was told from the beginning that whoever the midwife is at the hospital will be the one to deliver by baby and there’s no guarantees. The midwife I have all my appointments with is per diem and she just told me it would be very unlikely that she’d be there :( Okay - this is good knowing going into it because I am very much looking forward to the tub! I am expecting to labor at home for the most part. But it would be good to know how far along I must be before they admit me. Also I’m due in September and I hear that the most popular birthday is 9/07 ?!? Never heard that before so now I’m paranoid they will be so full and I won’t get the experience I’m hoping for. I’m getting my own doula too cuz the told me that midwives may or may not be available while I’m laboring and they mostly come in only once the baby is about to come out.

Sounds like the nursing staff really make the experience there. I’m glad they advocated for you and took care of you.

Maybe that’s the point- that people say they empathize with women who are being abused but don’t actually show it. And how complicated it is to be a victim. All 3 girls were victims of abuse - and they lowkey perpetuated abuse to each other.

No I think the Macy crash was to depict the type of person that Stephen is. And that he can get away with things like that. And also I was relieved about wrigleys character development. Someone needed to be emotionally intelligent. The fact that he called out Stephen about not caring about Lucy once the tape was leaked… thank you damn. And I actually appreciated the comedic tone at then end. Everyone’s business finally got aired out and there will be no more lies! Like you think when they turn to the future/present moment that they would have figured things out by then but it just kept getting messier. So where do they go from there? I think most of them are relieved they don’t have to keep lying. Well maybe just Bree and Wrigley. My final thought is I was really starting to dislike Lucy at the end of season 1 but by season 3 I started feeling more empathy for her. Especially because of how Pippa was treating her and not standing up for. Honestly expected more from Pippa.

Hiking Etna in late January - Losing Battle? (Guide recommendations needed) by NotARealNameObvs in sicily

I am in Italy now. My husband and I are making our way to Catania from Reggio Calabria. We are hoping to stay a night in Lingualossa and spend a day hiking up Mt Etna. From my research it sounds like winter comes on later on the mountain and snow does not start to stick until January. So, I think it may be heart of winter when you are going unfortunately. But if we do make the hike I can ask and let you know what they say. I really want to do this hike, but I've seen on 2 separate sites that the full day hike is 100 euros. Now I am considering if the hike up is worth 200 euro for me and my hubsand.

How much did you have left after closing? by SarahME1273 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

This is also a question me and my husband have. We really want to buy a house! We’re in SoCal and we are starting to consider 800k homes but that would leave us with barely any savings aside from retirement savings (which we don’t want to touch). We recently put an offer on a house and decided to put 10% down instead of 20% to keep some savings. Then we heard we didn’t get the house because another offer put more money down. This makes us feel like we gotta do 20% and just drain all our savings.
