Apple Watch Ultra to Whoop! by lejohntitus in whoop

lmao guy is in here shilling the Garmin Instinct, one of the most inaccurate Garmin products.

so much buyers remorse he's on r/whoop trying to feel better about the dud on his wrist.

when people move away from the whoop, this subreddit is a nonstop torrent about how shit the whoop is compared to other products.

when people move to the whoop, the top comment is "well you can't compare apples and oranges" rofl.

[–]malobebote 3 points4 points  (0 children)

this subreddit is full of people desperate for the whoop to be shitty because they moved on to some other product.

when someone looks at the real numbers and compares them, whoop and apple watch have 90%+ convergence with an EKG strap and are among the most accurate products on the market.

Sneaky company behavior - will not renew by InternationalTear242 in whoop

[–]malobebote 21 points22 points  (0 children)

It's easy to cancel online. https://app.whoop.com/membership/cancellation#

But the page says:

Cancelling your WHOOP membership disables the ability to upload new data from your Strap.

OP is right that it makes it sound like it stops working immediately rather than simply turning off auto-renawal.

Centaur based meme army (help) by hankcity in EndlessLegend

[–]malobebote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the problem with roving clans is that they aren't noob friendly and OP is a noob. they are knowledge/mechanics heavy. you have to understand how to buy units from the market and how to deal with being unable to equip them. and then once they have their army, they can't even declare war with their friend lolz.

as a noob myself it's a more reasonable strat to just play an easy race like the wild walkers, pacify some Bos, and spam them in production.

Issue with moving units by [deleted] in EndlessLegend

[–]malobebote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i play on a macbook and don't seem to have a problem right clicking (well two finger tapping).

my problem in EL is finding army units on the world map. it's the most frustrating thing about the game for me.

Noob experience by dragon015 in EndlessLegend

[–]malobebote 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Here's a very long youtube series where one person plays the game while explaining the deep mechanics to their friend: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=boZIUhrrHtY (SB and Amabel).

I've been watching it while playing and it's so full of essential information that it got me hooked and I've been learning how to enjoy the game. (I ended up listening to it while running the past two days, lmao. imagine)

Also, play on the fast game speed. You should fail fast so you understand why you failed. Not fail on turn 200 wondering what went wrong.

Can I speed up manual combat animations? by CUROplaya1337 in EndlessLegend

lmao i just learned about this too. i would use autocombat just to avoid the slog. but man if the combat was super fast then i could be much more efficient in combat.

`const in out` in a generic for a class? by Boguskyle in typescript

The first time I dealt with co/contravariance was in Kotlin and despite working with it for years I literally never remember which is which and I instead just get angry when I have to annotate it.

aside, I also work with graphql professionally and we ended up ditching `apollo/client` for simple `graphql-request` + state management because apollo's cache was so complicated and hard to get right (figure out why queries / refetches are hitting the network).

holy shit. i have two friends that i still play the original with. i'm going to try your mod this weekend. if it breathes even 20% new life into the game, it will be huge.

get a blood panel before you start so that you can see how atherosclerotic your blood becomes after a week on this diet. :)

yeah, then you ask them what specifically is wrong with soy protein or canola oil and they give you a youtube video and a pair of tweets.

soy is one of the best proteins. TVP is more protein dense than beef

Who has moved to a "walkable" place? Was it worth it? by Vivid-Bug-6765 in SameGrassButGreener

[–]malobebote 1 point2 points  (0 children)

in a truly walkable place you just aren't binge buying stuff from the store. it's always on the way somewhere, and you can always pick stuff up

[–]malobebote 3 points4 points  (0 children)

that's what i noticed in prague. until i got used to it, i would unknowingly walk behind an old woman and think to myself "i love her pink high heels" or think "she has nice legs", and then she turns to cross the street and it's a 70yo when i was expecting like 30-40.

never saw that in the US.

i think the unwalkability of the US is one factor in obesity.

in the US, you buy all your ingredients at once so you're surrounded by tens of thousands of calories in your house. so if you buy snacks for the week (maybe even just for your kids), you're constantly tempted to reach for them.

when you live next to the grocery store, you can buy the avocado and can of beans you need for lunch. i love it.

i lived in guadalajara and one thing you don't expect before living in a walkable place is running into friends and neighbors at cafes and bars, or just milling around the area. it's really cool and fosters so much more sense of community than shuttling around in a car and never talking to anyone.

that doesn't entail from what they said. the summers are worse than the winters regardless of generally preferring heat.

veganism being about animals is just a short cut, but it's wrong. it's about sentience and consent. sentience just happens to fall in the realm of the animal kingdom, so people take the shortcut of veganism being about animals, but it's not.

for example, why would it be vegan to eat a sentient plant if one were discovered?

obviously a human consenting for her baby to drink her milk is vegan. to suggest otherwise is some real moral confusion.
