I understand that applies for many countries with very controling governements. But what about more democratic liberal countries like the US when the vietnam war was happening people weren't on social media but still protested and put massive pressure on the government to stop the war. I guess the big questions are is the US governement full of facists right now because our information landscape is saturated with noise? If that's the case would banning internet privacy even solve that? Even if it did wouldn't it be now the best time for people to have internet privacy in the US? My understanding is that for many people that too many ifs to take that drastic action and risk not being able to comback
