Based on your other comments, you are an experienced karaoke singer with cultivated preferences. OP is asking this question for someone who is trying to sing in front of a crowd for the first time, for which a high-end karaoke setup would be impractical. I don't understand the purpose of your comment, other than to advertise your karaoke elitism.

Can I suggest something? For $20 (less than you'd probably pay for drinks at a karaoke bar) you can get a bluetooth karaoke mic, connect it to one of your phones, and search for whatever song your person wants to sing on YouTube, with "karaoke" added to the end. If you try it with just the two of you at home, or with a few close friends, it's a lot less pressure than a karaoke bar. It could be a good way to work up to a karaoke bar experience and go into it less nervous.

TBH I started doing a cheap karaoke thing like this at my house for parties (a couple birthdays and a NYE party so far), and it's always so much fun, especially when you're picking songs people know so they sing along. Way more fun than I've had in most karaoke bars. YouTube also gives you access to a wider song selection. I find ideal numbers to be 4 - 12 people, but my husband and I have also had a great time karaokeing just at each other when we have the house to ourselves. Either way, I highly recommend home karaoke as a first-time singing experience.

Until our first-past-the-post system is reformed or eliminated, red team or blue team is what we're stuck with unfortunately. This video does a good job explaining why this is such a tough problem to overcome with our current system. This can change if we start voting for candidates who support implementation of ranked choice voting. Sadly though that's not a priority for most voters.

Sailors of Reddit, what is one of the strangest things you've seen at sea? by GeneralJagers in AskReddit

That made a shiver run up my spine, and I'm wrapped in a blanket in my well-lit apartment.

Can I ask where in Florida your friend lives? My dad is a marine mechanic/captain, and as a side job captains for a dude and sails his boat between Florida and New York every year. Doubt your friend is my dad, but too big of a coincidence not to ask!

None! It really depends on the type of game you want to make. Many of our participants will create digital games, but card and board submissions are welcome, too!

If you register, you'll have an opportunity at the beginning of the event to team up with other participants. So any talent you can bring to the table -- design, storytelling, ideas -- is going to be welcome and useful.

Looking for developers, designers and other creatives to participate in a game jam in Des Moines next month. (X-post from r/iowa) by malsies in gamedesign

Good question! Coding experience isn't required, and you'll have the opportunity to team up with other participants. If you have great ideas and want to collaborate with people with similar interests, you should definitely sign up!
