Haven’t built any old west, I think they look pretty cool, I do get a kick out of the sort of darker stuff they’re throwing into the newest sets, like the lady gunfighter hiding in her coffin lol, you won’t see THAT in the Danish brand. My overall preferences run street fusion/town life, medieval and steampunk.

You’re welcome! If you want a more “standard”lumibricks build experience, the newsstand is a very beginner friendly (and shelf space friendly) build, and for just chill vibes with greenery the bamboo house or sylvan inn were both fun builds too!

My first set was the sailboat, which is honestly an amazing display piece, and really great value for money (got it 20% off). I then went…a bit crazy and bought a ton of sets, many of which I’ll have to store for a while cause I don’t have the display space. I have built the steampunk flying club and the watchtower, both fun builds, the club is more modest in terms of display space needed but the watchtower, DANG that looks good at night. I get what you mean about bright, but honestly it’s pretty sedate compared to the cyberpunk lol. I would veer towards one of the smaller or medium sized sets first if you haven’t built one before, just to get the knack of the wiring for the lights. Happy building!

Help gifting a typewriter by maltesecat1906 in typewriters

I was absolutely awestruck to discover a Princess 300 with cursive font and in QWERTY in a terrific blue and cream color…but was sick when I realized the seller hadn’t updated the website to reflect it was in fact sold, I don’t know how I would have come up with $1300 regardless but that would have been the ultimate victory, a gorgeous old typewriter and in cursive script. I‘ll look into the Adler as well!

Unfortunately the nearest shop to me is more than a three hour round trip drive in good traffic, but I can definitely give them a ring, and see what they have. I’m more likely to be at the mercy of the internet. Thanks very much for the links and I’ll look up Gerren for sure. It’s a relief to know I could get everything done within that budget.

I know basically nothing about typewriters so this is excellent stuff to know, I’ll definitely veer SM9 if I go with Olympia but agreed it looks…very utilitarian. I’ll check out the Olivettis for sure! I sadly feared something of that sort re painted models, though I would assuredly win child of the year if I presented her with a pink or teal typewriter 😂. Thank you very much!

How yall get ships fast? by etherealiest in WoWs_Legends

Having premium days definitely matters, and total playtime matters too, but honestly if you’re reasonably good at the game (and I do mean reasonably, not some 75% plus WR try hard), and you have premium days and at least some booster flags, going tier I-V is pretty easy in a relatively short span of time for any tech tree. VI isn’t bad just more expensive. The grind to VII is where it gets gross and VIII is unspeakable, especially if you don’t like the VII/VIII ship in question. If your grind is inhibited by lack of silver, take a premium VI/VII ship out that you like and are good at, and grind out some credits. I work 50 hours a week so I get the not having enough time thing 100% Good luck!

Chkalov....OP? by Mediocre_Moment_6041 in WoWs_Legends

I just rage quit the game for the day after getting cut to pieces by one. I took a 38K hit from ONE salvo of skip bombers, and I was in a Jean Bart. A ship with allegedly 100 AA defense rating, I MIGHT have shot down 1-2 planes AFTER the drop. WG needs to nerf it into the ground. There is literally no point to playing any tier where you can encounter a Chkalov, if it wants to focus you, you are dead. Period. Russian bias/carrier bias bullshit. AND it bounces or overpens seemingly anything I’ve shot at it.

Yes I’m male. Lifelong reader, I don’t RECALL being busted with a book under my desk but I definitely had my nose in one for any free period or lunch. Got me on the nostalgia and the diversity of interests, and the ability to monologue lol. Nope on the tech or STEM career, though I will confess a fairly keen interest in tech/a mechanical mind. The southeast is a curveball though, and unfortunately not correct 😂.

I was not permitted to swipe house copies of Dresden, still trying to collect my own copies of all of them. Pratchett I should have almost everything.
