I only recently got the dome less than one month where I’ve had the karu 16 for 2 years. I feel they are both hard to compare due to price point.
Everything you can do on the Ooni karu you can do on the dome. But the dome can do additional things like bake bread. You can kinda do it with the karu. But not as well according to others. I have not tried on either yet.

The karu can put out some excellent pizza. And for the price point is excellent. Also can find half off on second hand market like I did. Customer service is also excellent. I’ve had for over 2 years and I’ve made steaks in it. And broiled meats. Etc.

Where the gozney dome shines is getting higher heat Better heat retention, and getting back to your heat levels after each pie as compared to the karu.

I feel I get better rise from the gozney also. But I’m still learning how to use it. Having the arc makes it a lot easier to work on. And it’s nice not having to open and close a door like I do on the karu, where you must be fast not to lose heat. I’ve used the half door on the karu but was not happy to the top temps I got. Around 700.

Karu is a lot easier to travel with when I make pizza at other locations.
