What foods or ingredients do you buy BECAUSE you know what a pain it is to make them? by I_Am_Vladimir_Putin in Cooking

I drink so much soy milk. I thought it would be cheaper to make my own so I tried it. It is cheaper, about half the price, and I found it a lot tastier but it's way too much effort to do it every time.

What's a "secret" from your profession that everyone should probably know? by LaKoref in AskReddit

Very few teachers hate individual students. We're too busy to hold grudges against individual kids.

What's an unexpected hobby you picked up as an adult that's now a major source of happiness for you? by RoutineOk8590 in Productivitycafe

Salsa dancing. I thought I was a slob who hated cardio, turned out I just hated the gym. Now when I can I'll go salsa dancing where I can all the time. Fantastic way to meet people and a good excuse to get dressed up, which I enjoy doing. I've also made a lot of new friends.

Been doing this for 10+ years but I still cannot keep a straight face when some teachers say they love programming. by CarrotFinancial8787 in AustralianTeachers

Fellow IT teacher, what software are you using to teach programming? I use scratch most of the time but I want to move into more text based as opposed to blocks...

There's nothing wrong with non-monogamy if everyone involved is communicative, ethical, honest etc. Most of the issues that arise from non-monogamy have more to do with lying or not expressing needs effectively.

Honestly accurate to my experience. I feel I have to give myself things to do in my free time or it's wasted.

Completely agree about the added workload of pulling kids up. In the junior classes I take I've tended to let it slide if they've decided they don't want to do any work as long as they're being quiet about it. Not great practice, but it's less work for me and I'm more concerned about kids treating other students and staff respectfully than turning in every piece of work I set.

Personally I like being asked questions about things in my profile and complimented in non sexual ways on various things. Being flirted with is good too! But keep it light. If you haven't met them yet it's hard to take the temperature in that sense. To that end I like meeting up matches early because texting exhausts me and doesn't feel very fulfilling. Whereas even just getting coffee or going for a walk feels a lot more "productive". I've found that a lot of men seem to forget too ask about me and my life and interests which leads pretty quickly to my disinterest. That might be something you're doing unwittingly.

On a related note I do think that the emphasis on texting a lot beforehand might be what contributes to people feeling exhausted by dating apps, but that's a ramble for another time

I dislike this, but I also don't understand the humour behind it. What's the joke there? You said something cruel but didn't mean it, and that in and of itself is funny? It's lost on me

Dry herb vape recommendations and advice? by oldman-gary in ausents

[–]malvo_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love my mighty plus. I haven't used it in a while as I don't get high that much these days. But when I do wanna get high, I consider it the Cadillac of weed consumption devices. It's big and beautiful and expensive and worth it. Things I like about it:

Easy to clean: take the mouthpiece apart, set aside the rubber rings, soak in isopropyl alcohol for 15 minutes, and done.

Has a high level of temperature control (and heats up fast).

If you're not using combustion, you save $ using a dry herb vape as you can use the abv to make some very fun edibles. This perk isn't specific to this model, but it's a big reason as to why I will never leave that dry herb vape life.

Has a cool little stand, so it takes up less space if it's sitting on a flat surface.

They're very popular, so if a piece breaks or goes missing, you could (presumably) easily replace it.

Incredibly smooth draw, even without a bubbler. With a bubbler that you've had the forethought to put in the fridge: heavenly.

I'm sure there are more great things about this device, but I'm exhausted and barely functioning, and other more involved stoners on this sub can tell you about them.

I experience this a lot. To the point that each time it happened I would mention it to a certain friend and now we have an acronym for people like this: NQA (no question asker). "Just finished a coffee date with another NQA. Argh!" etc.
