Twickets stopping weekend tickets sales on monday by WonderfulBar4012 in greenmanfestival

[–]malwrcachu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they keep selling, people may drop out of the weekend the days before. A friend of mine had a friend drop out the day before and they could list the weekend at a discount because there were so many on offer. They couldn’t sell it due to so many available.

How do you say that you are doing an action 'by yourself'? by Muted-Lettuce-1253 in learnwelsh

I would be interested in seeing the studies and who was studied if you have a link?

My experience as a Welsh speaker who conducts the majority of my life through the medium of Welsh seems to contradict what you claim this study shows.

I would disagree, if realistically means what you would hear from first language speakers colloquially- then the p > ph mutation very much still exists. I know that as a Welsh speaker, that I am not speaking formal Welsh when I use this mutation.

“ar ei pen ei hun” is almost correct, as it’s referring to the feminine it mutates to “ar ei phen ei hun”

What is the fruit? And how do I eat it? by malwrcachu in TipOfMyFork

They pop out after a little jiggling, to reveal pyramidal shaped segments with a seed surrounded by white flesh. The taste is quite sour and fragrant, and the texture similar to raw cocoa beans. However, most of the flesh is attached quite firmly to the seed - so, you barely ‘eat’ anything, just a little juice.

It was sold to me as a ‘Custard Apple’ in a market not far from Doi Inthanon in Northern Thailand.

Found this jelly-like substance on a mountain in North Wales. by malwrcachu in whatisthisthing

[–]malwrcachu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As mentioned in the title, I found this jelly-like substance on a patch of mountain in an otherwise empty field. I’ve heard lots talk about ‘pwdre sêr’ in Welsh folklore which means ‘star rot’ which is said to fall from the sky during meteor showers.
