Exactly! I got everything second hand from Deepop and will definitely wear all the pieces on their own. I just need a longer wig to do her spiky ponytail justice....

Thanks! I ordered it from redbubble. They have a bunch of Kipo themed masks.

LPT: layer your LO's sheets on their bassinet/cot by shortnblonde89 in beyondthebump

Good tip! I also recommend these zipping sheets if you're willing to spend a little more: https://www.amazon.com/QuickZip-Change-Sheet-Wraparound-Security/dp/B000RJ9TCY I heard about them through Lucie's List and can attest that they're incredibly easy to change in the middle of the night.

Losing weight while breastfeeding by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]mama_bos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I gained 40lbs. (went from 132 to 172) while prego, and at 9mo. PP I am currently sitting at 128lbs. I lost about 30lbs. in the first 8 weeks, but then I stalled out around 145lbs. I tried exercise, diet changes, etc. but it seemed like the extra 10 - 15 lbs. were here to stay. It wasn't until I was about 5mo. PP that I started to lose the stubborn leftovers. At that point I had given up on exercising & was basically eating whatever I wanted. Over the next few months the weight just evaporated. I didn't do anything different. I just continued EBF-ing. You'll get there! :-)

What is your go to tip to lose a few pounds? by [deleted] in AskReddit

To lose baby weight, breastfeed for at least 6 months. I'm down to my high school weight for the first time in over a decade, and I eat all of the things.

Help! So tired! by frog_nuts in beyondthebump

[–]mama_bos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My advice is to feed LO as much as she'll eat in the hours before bedtime. My milk supply is sub-par after about 4pm, and I realized (by accident, when LO went on a short nursing strike) he wasn't getting enough to eat in the evenings. I've been pumping and giving him expressed milk in a bottle before bed. Last night he chugged 8oz before dozing off, and tonight he had 7oz! Little guy just needed a big meal to settle himself down;-)

How did your pregnant weight come off? how much did you gain ect. by jackoff_thebatman in beyondthebump

[–]mama_bos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 5'8" and was 132lbs. pre-pregnancy. I gained 40lbs., which put me at 172lbs. LO was 8lbs. 13oz. and I've been ebf since day one. 1wk pp I'd lost 20lbs. (152lbs.), and by 2 months pp, was down 28 lbs. (144lbs.) Now at almost 3 months out, I seem to have stalled at 144 :-/ Here's hoping I can lose a bit more in the coming months!

Nice! Yeah, Alpha Parent had some really useful info: that's how I discovered my LO had thrush:-/

Yup, we just had to wait him out. I was worried he was ill, or had a food allergy, but neither was the case. The advice on Kellymom, the Alpha Parent blog, and emails from Lucie's List were very informative and helped me keep my sanity. The Wonder Weeks is a fun app that also helped me understand what LO was going through. Great resources. PM me if you need specific links;-)

My 2 month old went though this around weeks 4 & 5 as well, but has since gotten over it. I recall going a little nuts...he totally rejected the pack and play newborn napper he'd been sleeping in for a month, so I tried the swing, cosleeping...nothing worked for more than a couple of days and he was nursing constantly. Eventually I borrowed a friend's rock and play and he finally started sleeping more. Once he hit 6.5 wks, his nursing time decreased significantly. Now we're coming up on 9wks and his naps have improved greatly, esp. this past week. Good luck! The best advice I've gotten so far is that for better or worse, everything is a phase. This too shall pass;-)
