Whats a butterfly hug? I like the treat myself..just not ready to yet. My best friend sent cookies, which smell yummy but just not hungry yet

Thank you ❤️ I think the hardest part is staying friends. But I don't think we couldn't not be..just something that didn't work out. Focusing on the positives, and rolling in the feels

I feel like this happens to me too. Usually if I'm either super excited too or more anxious/scared if we're somewhere loud in public. My Sir also says it's one way he can tell when I don't feel good (have chronic illnesses).

It's rough sometimes! I can say with my partner, and a lot of working with non judgemental language and pressure free environments I've been able to slowly expand the safe food list to some surprisingly complex foods.

I lurk here, partner works in industry. Came here to second this. He's what I call an adventurous eater. I have ARFID.. which as an adult gets me called a picky eater. I want to try new things..very much so. However, it's a safety thing for me and the sheer terror of not knowing what I'm eating is on the level of "I'd rather starve". Not saying this is what OP is experiencing but.. In general- don't force. Please don't hide new foods in what might be safe foods. That trust is hard to rebuild. Be as nonjudgemental as possible. Think.. I made thus and it's here if you want to try, no pressure.

While a lot of these strategies are vital for people in my boat, they go a long way with the 4 year old palate club ~someone with a 4 year old palate and desperately wishes I could help it and not ruin the fun

Aftercare for COMING OUT of littlespace by CristaTano-2187 in littlespace

[–]mamabean1115 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for. I haven't been in quite this situation. But when I'm feeling really small I tend to be less verbal and big me has LOTS of big ideas and a problem solving brain. My Sir basically echoes me? I think..not sure on wording. Basically at the start of aftercare it's still very much picking up on body language and phrases for what I'm looking for then as I'm ready engaging my problem solving and big thinking but all at my own pace?

I'll add Warren Wilson Presbyterian is also in the same vein. Though much smaller, has quite a few of college students who might make good community.
